ah okay don't know much about the actors who played the Doctor, but my first memory of Doctor Who is watching it on PBS when i was a kid, could not tell you which doctor it was but id recognize him if i saw his picture this would be back inthe 1980s so id think perhaps one of the first 5 or 6 maybe.

If it was in the eighties it's more likely to be five, six or seven. The series started in the sixties. Or Tom Baker if you were really early. Blonde hair or brown?

Oh. That's Tom Baker. Very VERY early eighties then. Because he regenerated in '81.
He was very good. "Jellybaby?"

We were both raised on Who. Personally I'm scared of the Weeping Angels. I can't turn my back on a statue...

And the thing from the Empty Child...and the clockwork clowns from The Girl in the Fireplace!
New Who monters are so much scarier...although the Celestial Toymaker always freaked me out...All the new Who things that I'm scared of were written by Stephen Moffat. *shiver* Bodes well for this season!

Which is kind of awesome. Like Tim Burton and Labyrinth! Children should be exposed to these things young...
And Rocky Horror!
