(Chaos? Basil and I talked it over and...we wanted to continue our arc, but if you'd like to, we'd enjoy it if you joined. ^^)
Vergil mentally plotted out the maze. If this worked the way he thought.... He purposefully started down the steps.
"Verge?" Dante interjected, looking confused. "What the hell are ya doing?"
The way he saw it, there was no way to beat this thing. How were they supposed to walk sideways and upside down?

(No, I won't cut in. I'm clearly having enough trouble keeping up with the arcs I'm already in. You two have fun!)

"Gravity is our friend," Selena said offhandedly.
The red head watched Vergil for awhile before walking after him. Apparently things don't seem to work here like the do back where they came from. She stopped for awhile. The stairs was leading straight towards the wall. She glanced to the left. The stairs seem to snake out from the wall and continue curving leftward.
"An optical illusion?" She asked aloud.

"Perhaps," Vergil murmured, tilting his head slightly. He put a foot up on the wall and was pleasantly surprised to find gravity held him there. He stepped forward with the other foot, feeling gravity change around him until he was standing sideways. He held his hand out to Selena with an amused smirk. Well, wasn't this interesting.
Dante stared. Blinked. Shook his head. And stared somemore. How was that possible? He ran forward curiously and tried to copy his brother. But instead of standing up, he fell on his butt at his brother's feet. Sh*t. Dante pulled himself to his feet, glaring. The way gravity worked here was weird.

Selena took Vergil's hand and stepped onto the wall. She didn't notice that her nails were digging into his flesh. She stared determinately ahead.
"So far we've been lucky..." Her voice trailed off.
"Wh-what if..."
She glanced briefly over her shoulder and shuddered. "What if we aren't so lucky? I don't fancy falling into the pit below."

Dante and Vergil exchanged looks, contemplating something.
"I doubt we'll fall unless something knocks us off," Vergil said slowly, pretending that Selena wasn't nearly drawing blood. "Though...in the unlikely event that we do...."
"You'll just have to 'trick' us out, right bro?" Dante cut in, grinning.
Vergil shot him a go-die-in-a-ditch look.

"I guess..."
Selena flexed her hand a little, releasing her death grip on her boyfriend's hand. She glanced around and realized that nothing was going to knock them off that soon. Nothing was moving. Yet.
"I don't mean to doubt you, Vergil, but isn't this too much of a walk in the park?"
The sorceress studied the maze thoughtfully. "Usually there's only one path out of a maze no matter how complicated it is."
One path. That means that they might step onto a portion of the wall or the stairs without any gravity at all. Well, that would be how she would have done it. This simply didn't make any sense at all! She tightened her hand around Vergil's once again. It was marginally reassuring that he didn't seem that worried. Not outwardly at least.

Vergil was silent for a long time, ignoring that his twin was acting mental due to boredom. He could remember this place, vauguely. From what he remembered, almost every stairway had a new demon to fight. Perhaps that was what they would have to face. Or perhaps they would get lost on the many stairways. There seemed to be two ways to reach the center, but still....
Dante froze, listening. "D'you guys hear that, too?"

Selena tried to ignore Dante's antics. It was annoying the hell out of her. She gritted her teeth slightly. If he wasn't indispensable, she would probably have set him on fire awhile ago. Pity, he was Vergil's twin. She didn't want to antagonized her boyfriend. People seem to react badly whenever others harmed someone in their family no matter how much they hate each other.
"What?" Came the irritable reply.
Selena smiled a little tersely. Her smile faltered. Dante didn't seem like he's joking. She froze. She heard something.
"Oh great..." She thought.
Her hand reaching down for her whip. Dramatic! She squared her shoulders a little. She secretly wondered if Mundus was spying on them somewhere.
"He's probably laughing at us," she thought darkly.

Dante shrugged, wondering why he was hearing bells...and growling. He twirled Ivory around thoughtfully.
"You think we're gonna be attacked?" he asked as a roar split through the air.
"Run," Vergil murmured, walking faster.

Seeing Vergil quickening his pace, Selena followed suit. The roar didn't sound friendly. The mirror was to their left. Two floors down. They might reach it in time. They were about to reach the end of the wall when she heard the roar again. It was too close for comfort.
"Don't look behind," she told herself.

Vergil nearly ran to the wall and helped everyone up before joining them and running down the next flight of stairs. He would have loved to stay behind and fight, but if he couldn't fight properly, then there was really no point in fighting.
"Verge? It's...uh...it's got wings," Dante said, sounding irritated. It was obvious that he wanted to fight.

"And how will that help?" Selena snapped back.
She brushed a stray lock out of her face as she continued running down the flight of steps. Thank god she had enough sense this time round to wear something low heeled. Stilettos will be a pain over here! Something landed. Most likely behind them. She couldn't see anything up ahead. Not yet at least.
"Please tell me it can't breathe fire as well!"
She rolled her eyes. She can't believe she said that! She must be more stressed than she thought she was. "Forget that! Fire is alright..."

"How the hell should I know, lady?" Dante growled, panting.
Vergil chanced a look over his shoulder. It was huge and purely black. The Noctis Dragon, he thought, frowning. Well...this could be a problem. There were no books he knew of that told of weak spots for demonic dragons.
"I blieve he may," Vergil commented, looking amused even as he ran. Just one more flight of stairs....
The problem was, the stairs behind them couldn't take the dragon's weight.
