Vergil shot her a look that very plainly asked her how he was supposed to have done that. However, he kept quiet.
"Look, lady," Dante growled, fuming, "I've been wantin' to go for a while. But you two keep jerking around. We gonna go or not?"
He ignored the warning glare his twin sent him, choosing instead to glare at them both. They were wasting time.

Selena gave a half shrug. "If you stand so far away, you'll be left behind."
She had to keep up the act otherwise Dante will be suspicious. Realizing that he probably won't budge, she motioned to Vergil to follow as she stepped closer to the younger twin. She cleared her mind as she focused on the image of the forest in her mind. She concentrated. All three of them began fading slowly. Then they flickered briefly before vanishing.
When they reappeared, they were standing in a small clearing. The branches of the trees surrounding the area were so thickly interwoven that only small patches of sky can be seen through the canopy. Selena looked around a little nervously. The forest seemed darker than it should be even with the area being this heavily sheltered and the trees and overgrown plants seem to come out of the ground at odd angles...

Dante looked around the forest, then started off in a random direction. Vergil grabbed him by the back of his collar and dragged him in the right way. They traded glares and Dante sighed before slowly following his twin.
"This place is weird, dude," Dante remarked, looking at a plant.

Selena walked along side Vergil. She kept her face as impassive as possible. She half expected something to attack them. So far, nothing. She hoped it didn't arose Dante's suspicions. If she were in his place, she would have started accusing her companions of betraying her. There should be guards or sentries or demons roaming around at the very least.
"He is either very good at pretending or he isn't very focused," she thought to her boyfriend.
Dante was worrying. He is a wildcard. There was no way to predict accurately how he would act in any situation. She clenched and unclenched her fists.
"The ridge is up ahead," she thought.

He's always distracted, Vergil thought with a glance toward his twin.
As they exited the forest, the elder son of Sparda looked towards the palace, wondering how to 'get in without being seen'. He thought it would be a good idea to keep Dante blissfully ignorant to that fact that Mundus saw nearly everything in the demonic realm, and that there were demons watching them right now.
"Perhaps...a back door?" he said quietly, nodding towards a small slope, which most likely lend to an underground opening to the castle.
Dante inched along behind them, brooding. Vergil was woeful to admit, he was worried about his twin. Dante usually never shut up or sulked. Did Maya really mean that much to him? Or was this world messing with his head?

Selena followed Vergil. The castle was worse up close. Why can’t they storm a pretty fairy tale castle for once? She was starting to question the value of reading fairy tales to children. It was nonsensical. She was rather reluctant to enter.
“Does it get worse inside?” She thought to Vergil.
Mentally, she sighed. “Let’s just go in and get Maya. The sooner we are done, the faster we can leave.”
A thought occurred to her. She froze. She quickly sent another telepathic message to her boyfriend. “Can Mundus hear our thoughts?”
She hoped she wasn’t being excessively paranoid…

Vergil looked up at the creepy gothic structure ahead of them. Sure it was creepy, but they hadn't been inside it yet. He nodded once in answer to both her questions.
"Ya know," Dante said abruptly, "why is it demons always come to these places? Is it cuz it's cheap, or do they love their old chestnuts that much? Cuz, dude, this place needs some serious TLC."
Dante grinned when Vergil rolled his eyes, obviously starting to get back into demon hunter mode. He nearly led the way down the slope, secretly hoping that they weren't too late.

Selena walked after the twins. She wasn’t sure if she was relieved or annoyed that Dante was buoyant again. She was worried that she might have said too much. It didn’t help knowing that he could hear their thoughts. She studied the place as they continued walking. Dante was right for once. This place can use some sprucing up. It was literally too organic for her liking.
“And I thought his restaurant was flamboyant,” she thought to Vergil.

'Mundus,' Vergil thought to Selena, 'enjoys his power and enjoys exerting it over others as much as possible. Naturally, he is rather...as you said, flamboyant.'
The elder twin hid his amusement well and continued along the way. Several Abysses appeared before them; their flaming scythes casting a flickering light over their white and red bodies.
Dante snorted. "Alright, now this is more like it."
He unsheathed Rebellion cheerfully.
Vergil, however, was looking assessingly behind them. "I suppose you want me to take the Vangaurd then?"
A giant grim reaper-like demon stood behind them, spinning its scythe.
"That or the Faust, bro," Dante retorted with a nod towards the dark shadowy form hovering in midair; it's red claws shining.
Vergil was privately impressed at the demons being thrown upon them. They were all higher level demons, afterall. He was also a little disappointed that Dante didn't find it suspicious that the demons were suddenly popping up now. And his twin thought himself a devil hunter. Vergil wanted to snicker, but settled from loosing Yamato from its sheathe. He cast a look to Selena, wondering which she'd pick.

Selena clicked her tongue as she removed Avnas from her belt.
“I hate fighting enemies with same affinity as me. But I don’t mind taking them on,” she thought to her boyfriend as she nodded in the direction of the Abysses.
“Have fun with the Faust!” She teased.
The sorceress would have loved to say more, but she felt it would be wiser to hold her tongue. The thought of someone being able to tap into her thoughts made her a little paranoid. No one has ever done so since she went into exile and she wished to keep it that way.
The red head ran towards the nearest Abyss. The red and white demon threw a fire ball in her direction. Instead of dodging, Selena ran straight into the ball of flames. The flames scattered round her as she charged forward. She cracked her whip. Avnas’ bladed segments linked together forming a sword. She trusted. But before she could stab the demon, it liquidated.
She swore as she stumbled forward. She regained her balance and whipped round. The demon was right in front of her. She jumped back as it swung its scythe forward.
“Okay, maybe just this once, I was overconfident.” She admitted to Vergil.
"Oh well, time for a change in strategy."

"F*ck," Dante cursed, not happy to lose his prey to Selena. He hated dealing with Fausts. However, instead of taking it up with her, he unleashed a barrage of bullets on the Faust, waiting for it's cloak to fall.
Vergil jumped elegantly over the Vangaurd's scythe and landed at a crouch before spinning around to put a hand on Selena's shoulder.
"They are not the same affinity as you. The Hells don't have an actualy affinity."
He had to stop talking at that point, because the Vangaurd had vanished. Vergil tricked to the other side of the room, hoping to lure the Vangaurd toward him.
Dante, muttering a stream of curses, was glad when the Faust fell to the ground as a giant white...spider-y thing. It scuttled away and Dante ran after it, ignoring Vergil's angry shout of warning.

Selena gave a slight start when she felt Vergil put a hand on her shoulder. She blushed and reached up to touch his hand lightly. She didn’t have time to dwell on her lust filled thoughts as the demon charged again. By that time, Vergil had already tricked to the other side of the room. She gritted her teeth. The scythe was starting to annoy her.
The scythe missed her again. She jumped onto the pole before the Abyss had time to lift its scythe and ran towards the demon. It backed away and threw another fire ball at her. The same thing happened as before. The flames dispersed, but she remained unscathed.
Selena leaped off the pole and leant backwards to grab the handle of the scythe. She yanked it out of the ground and swiped at the Abyss, which liquidated on spot. She swore.
She threw the scythe aside. She dashed over and retrieved her whip. She spun round as the demon materialized again. She cracked her whip. This time she managed to wrap her whip round it. She tried her best not to be distracted by Vergil’s angry shouts. She pulled the demon towards her and gave it a mighty kick.
“What happened?” Selena thought to the elder twin.

Seeing his brother run off, Vergil, who had been playing with his prey, killed it with a few well controlled strokes of Yamato before tricking back to Selena. She seemed focused on one of the Abysses when there were still others to deal with.
"Dante ran ahead," he growled.
Dante kept shooting at the Faust. The demon squealed in pain as each bullet hit it's mark. However, the Faust quickly regained its cloak and dove after Dante, who was sent running back towards his twin and Selena.

“That’s Dante for you.”
Selena batted her eyelashes coyly. “I’m sure he’ll still be in one piece when we find him.”
The sorceress unwound her whip and made a stabbing motion as she trusted. The blades connected and the sword impaled the Abyss. She spun round and threw the sword at a second Abyss. She raised an eyebrow when the blade hit its mark.
“I didn’t expect to work,” she muttered.
The red head retrieved her whip and watched her boyfriend. She didn’t glance back when she heard the sound of approaching footsteps.
“He’s back.”
She whirled around and summoned a bright cherry colored flame in her hand. She threw it at the Faust. The ball unfurled and took the form a blazing phoenix as it hurtled towards the demon. When the bird was a hair’s breadth away, she drew her hand close to her chest and clenched her fist. The phoenix exploded. Heat engulfed the entire area as the red flames formed a mass ensnaring the demon. The force of the explosion nearly knocked Selena off her feet, but she managed to brace herself in time.
She lowered her arms as the heat dissipated. She panted a little as she brushed a stray lock of hair out of her face. She smiled a little guiltily as she remembered that Dante was just in front of the Faust moments before she cast her spell. She turned to the younger Sparda.
“Are you alright?”
Selena didn’t bother apologizing. He almost shot her back there, so giving him a little shock would be lenient. She scanned the room for the Faust. This was her first time trying it out.
“Please don’t make me regret not sticking to Avnas,” she muttered more to herself than anyone else in the room.
[I'll leave it up to you what happens to the Faust... =P]

Vergil made a noncomental noise and decapitated an Abyss before slicing though another in response. "Just f*ckin' peachy," Dante spat, panting. Oh, yeah, he was mad. Selena, though she'd killed the Faust, had singed his coat. And that...that was just wrong. The elder of the twins sheathed Yamato with a sigh and a distinctive click. "We should keep moving." (Hehe. Alright. *kills Faust**hates fighting them*)
