Okay, I think this thread goes here.

Anyway, I just rediscovered a review I was given for one of my fanfictions that makes me literally laugh out loud. That got me wondering; what's the best review you guys have ever got? For stories, artwork, essays, anything.

Okay, the review:

For: The High Heeled King

Oh, how wonderful!

“Prepare to be amazed.” He [Thranduil] said with a backwards glance at his son. Legolas stared at it in astonishment.

The box contained dozens of different types of make-up, each in tens upon tens of colours and shades. Some were normal, some shiny, some glittery. Every variety had been used, however.

“This is where the make-up I wear to the feasts comes from.” Thranduil explained.

“Is it yours?” Legolas asked, finally getting his voice back.

“Technically it’s my father’s as well. We used to have need for theatrical make-up and costume in Doriath. For some strange reason, the box of make-up still exists.”

“You and Grandfather were actors?”

“Amateur actors.” Thranduil said.

Possibly the greatest paragraph in fanfiction history, This fic had me sniggering.

"Why do you wear make-up Ada?

"Because I'm worth it."

Okay, this is two reviews from the same person, and about the same "story". I had to put both since they were really the whole reason why I decided to turn a one shot into a mini-series. The first is the request, and the second is the response to my response to the request ^.^

Love your writing style... How about making it a series of one shots of how Serena can drive Darien boonkers! Maybe some Sil. Mil. , Modern Tokyo, and Crystal Tokyo! An anology of Sere driving her lovable hubby/ boyfriend nuts in adorable ways through out time! Knowing a man for over 2 milleniums has to produce some fun stories and cute funny ways to torture Darien/ Endy!

Pleassee with a cherry on top! Or better yet a Prince Endy in a Speedo eating said cherry!

Hi. I usually don't review because I don't have a account or whatever, but when I saw you only have 35 reviw, I was like: What it this horrible crime readers have commited?

You're stories really great! I mean, I like cannon stories and all, but it's refreshing to read something so different, happy, but still Death Note-ish. I really liked how you managed to keep all the original Death Note characters in, even though the plot is different. It's a very good plot btw. Did it randomly come to you or you had to search for it? Also, if you really do review at least once every two weeks, I will love you forever!

Good move adding 3 Wammy boys. I can see many hilarious chapters coming up(hopefully)

I've gotten a LOT of reviews, so it's kind of hard to choose which. Mostly of the reviews I've gotten were on one fanfiction, which I got 400+ reviews for, but one review that made me happier than any had ever made me was actually on a fic that didn't have very many reviews:

This is amazing! It's the ONLY good OC story I have read. EVER. EVER EVER. In my entire life. You are a total beast. If someone had told me that the character had a D in their name, acquired a Devil Fruit in the first chapter, and sailed on the Oro Jackson (begging your pardon), I would have discarded them as a Stu and gone on my way.

But your prose are excellent, you have good grammar/spelling/punctuation, and you make all those aspects fit together in a way I've never seen before. You're awesome. Thanks for writing.

Given how obsessive I am over developing my characters personalities and backgrounds, this review made me EXTREMELY happy to know that my efforts are honestly appreciated, even by people who normally aren't into OCs. MadRabbit actually ended up making the community he added my fic to after reading it; its description states that it's more or less a quest to find good OC fics. So all of that together, made me quite happy. x3

Oh. (I'm never sure of how to start reviews off, so I guess that will have to do. Really, someone ought to write a book on proper reviewing etiquette. Well, not really, but I think I'll end this hear rather than go on about my misconceptions of humour that is deemed acceptable by most functioning members of society.)

Let us go back to the review, shall we?

Very nicely written - nice pacing and choice of words. I like how, instead of just adding what is needed in the plot like some writers, you add in details of the surroundings, et cetera. And the small forays away from the action fits in seamlessly with the plot, adding to it rather than taking away from the impact of what is happening. Bravo.

I do enjoy this beginning more than the other, I must admit. Including the bashing-up of L, even though I absolutely adore him. This version just somehow seems a lot more realistic and I can connect with how each of the characters reacted.

And yes, I did read the original version. Sadly, I've been restricted in my Internet use and had to use a public computer, which meant no logging in. Now I have my laptop back, I can review all I like with my account! Plus, I'm rather self-serving. I like to subscribe so I don't have to hunt down and refresh the page to check for an update, and I feel guilty subscribing without leaving a review.

So we both win, though admittedly I seem to benefit more than you do. In fact, you having to read this could be constituted as a strange form of torture while me reading your story is an absolute joy. In the end, I come out despicable and you come out as a saintly figure who (hopefully) continues to write, despite my sad sad attempt at a review leaving you miserable and with mental scarring. Or not at all miserable/scarred, but happy to have a somewhat-insane reviewer. I'm not picky.

Again, I've deviated from the point of a review: reviewing the damn story, not being utterly and pathetically pointless. So, to wrap up this sorry excuse of a review, the story is excellent, and by the looks of things it'll be that much more brilliant this time around. I look forward to more, I applaude your story and writing ability, and I apologise for this rambling review!
