1) What do the statistics mean?
*Each stat is given a maximum of 50 points!
Strength – This stat will determines how strong your character is. The higher your character’s strength, the stronger your character will be. If your character has a 40 to 50 strength points, he or she is considered to be as strong as Superman.
Vitality – This stat will determine how hardy your character is. The higher your character’s vitality, the more hits he or she can take during a fight. If your character has 40 to 50 vitality points, it means that he or she is very hardy.
For those of you who have characters with healing or rapid healing abilities, your character’s vitality will fall somewhere between the 30 to 50 points. You can choose to max it, but beware of the nerfs!
Agility – This stat wil determine how fast your character is. The more agile your character, the better he or she is at dodging blows and outrunning his or her opponents. If your character has a 40 to 50 agility points, he or she is considered to be as fast as the Flash.
For those of you who have characters with godly reflexes or teleportation abilities, your character’s agility will fall somewhere between 30 to 50 points. Once again, remember, we will nerf any overpowered character! ^^
Defense – This stat will determine how much damage your characters will receive when he or she is hit by both magic and physical attacks. The more defense points your character has, he or she will receive less damage when he or she is hit. If you character has 40 to 50 defense points, he or she is considered to be as tough as Iron Man.
Additional note for Defense: If you feel that your character is more vulnerable to physical or magic attack, you might want to separate your defense stats into Magic Defense and Physical Defense.
Perceptivity – This stat will determine whether your character can sense where his or her enemy is. At higher levels, he or she can even predict when and how his or her enemy will attack. If your character is psychic, his or her perceptivity should be around 30 to 50 points.
Intelligence – This stat will determine how strong your magic attacks are. The higher your intelligence the more powerful your spells will be. But please be realistic, the more powerful your spells are, more draining they will be.
So try not to put too many powerful spells under your abilities. It is possible that though your spell damage might be high but you have a range of weak and powerful spells. Don’t forget to mention which are the more powerful spells under your abilities section! =D
Intelligence and Magic defense: While defense is considered a separate category. Intelligence does contribute to magic defense in most role-playing games. The Fight Club is no exception.
We believe that a non magic user should have some degree of magic defense (around 10 to 15). It is unlikely that it would be 0. Unless you want to say that a single spell can obliterate your character.
2) What are nerfs?
Nerfs are spells that the moderators will apply to overpowered characters. This is to ensure that the fights remain fair. However, we do acknowledge that towards the end of the competition, the fights would and should get tougher. This means that for the tougher matches we will apply less nerfs. XD So please be prepared to fight for your life!
We will be come up with the nerf list soon. They will be basic, e.g. making an immortal character mortal when they fight against another mortal character or making a ghost character solid or vulnerable to light magic if they are fighting against mortal characters. Do look out for it!
3) Why do we need to write down our character’s stats? Isn’t it common sense?
Don’t worry! You don’t have to keep calculating when you fight. This is just to give all of us a better picture of how powerful your characters are. We don’t want to nerf your characters unfairly. So by looking at their stats, we’ll be able to gage if they really are as overpowered as they sound. Some skills based on description alone do sound a little overpowered.
4) Does it mean that my character has 0 intelligence if he or she cannot use magic at all? What if he or she is highly intelligent?
That is entirely up to you. If the stats is 0, you can omit it from the profile. However, we feel that the no one is completely vulnerable to magic attacks. Theoretically speaking, a non magic user should have around 10 to 15 intelligence. This is to ensure that they do have some form of magic defense.
And ... sorry for the confusion. Intelligence doesn't have anything to do with one's actual IQ. It's just a name for the stats. =P
5) Can we use decimals?
Go ahead! No one is stopping you. ^^ *whispers* Though we would prefer whole numbers. Erm... no non recurring decimals please! Keep your numbers to two decimal places if possible!
And don't get fresh! I'll personally kill the person who puts a fraction that is equivalent to a non recurring decimal in his or her stats! Yes... I have a calculator at hand!
