Eva winced. She can’t help but feel a tinsy bit guilty when Gus landed on his back. It looked like it really hurt. Probably it was worse than falling from the tree. She bent down and looked at him. “Gus, are you okay?”
She whirled round. “Uncle Dante!”
She looked at Atty and nudged him. He was Uncle Dante’s “favorite” after all. Getting Uncle Dante to do things for him might be easier. She shifted a little. She can’t let Atty do it alone. It was mean. Siblings should stick up for one another! She decided to tag along if Atty went to get Uncle Dante.
~+~+~+~+~
Tomtom walked over to Dante and poked him. Its mistress confiscated its plastic knife last week after it gave the older mistress a present. It stretched out its arms. It wanted to be cuddled. It liked Dante's smell.

Augustus nodded. His pride hurt more than his body.
Atticus shifted uneasily. He hated lying to his uncle more than he disliked lying to his mom. But they were counting on him! Atty nodded and and slouched over to the door.
---
Dante looked down at the tonberry, still trying to figure out what it was. He kneeled down and petted it's head for a moment.
"I left you a slice of pizza in the living room," he murmured as the door opened and he found him self confronted, not with his brother...but with his brother's kids.

Eva followed close behind Atty. She waved to Uncle Dante and smiled. She noticed him telling Tomtom about the pizza. She rolled her eyes as her tonberry hurried over to the living room. It was as greedy as Ewee! No, it was greedier since it can eat more things than the kiwi.
“Hello, Uncle Dante!”
She tried to keep a straight-face. She didn’t want to give them away. It would be worse than watching Gus land on his back again. She wished she knew how to break wards. Daddy’s books were boring, but it will be worth it.

Dante looked at the pair suspiciously. Atty was wearing his I'm-not-up-to-anything face...which meant that they were all definitely up to something.
"Uncle Dante?" Atticus started innocently. "Can you get the scissors for us so we can cut out a drawing?"
The boy look up at his uncle, almost looking like a little angel...which made Dante even more suspiscious. But if he helped them it would cause Vergil trouble...and there was nothing he liked more than causing Vergil trouble.
Dante shrugged. "Sure, kid. Don't kill yourself." Or mention I helped you.
Atty beamed as Dante strutted into the bedroom.

Eva trotted along after them. She was happy. She was really looking forward to the same hairstyle as Atty. It looked easier to maintain. Best yet, Uncle Dante agreed to help them. She paused. How exactly will they cut her hair? Do they bunch it up or will they just run the scissors through it like paper?
"Thanks you, Uncle Dante."
She beamed as he reached for them. At least, Aunt Erin will be less annoying today. She won't have any hair for her to play with. Aunt Erin loved to do a lot of funny things with her hair. She didn't even want to think of the weird clothes that she had to wear every time Mommy's friend comes. They were hot and uncomfortable.

"No problem, kid," Dante said carelessly, passing the scissors to Gus for safety. He wandered out of the room, hoping nothing too bad would happen.
---
"Who should do it?" Atty asked, as Dante left.

Eva shook her head. She wasn't sure how. She looked at her two brothers, especially Gus. She bunched her hair together. "Should I turn around?"
She wondered if she had to keep holding it up like that. It was uncomfortable. Taking the silence as a yes, she spun around and stood with her back facing her brothers. Her hand still holding on to her hair. She gulped. They better hurry. Aunt Erin would be here any minute.

Augustus pulled a little tighter on the ponytail and efficiantly cut it off. He watched the hair fall to the ground then looked back up at Eva as if to ask 'Well? What do you think?'
Atticus knelt down and picked up the hair, wanting to remove evidence. He laughed. Trouble making was fun.

Eva climbed up on the chair of the dresser and peered into the mirror. She smiled. It was nice. She wished the sides would slant a little more though. She wanted it to look like Atty's. She turned to Gus. "Gus, can you trim the edges a little more? I want it to look like yours and Atty's."
She was glad so managed to steal some hair color from her other Mommy. It was actually eyeshadow, but it becomes pasty when you add water to it. Tonight when everyone is asleep, she planned to streak her hair purple and blue. Maybe she should ask Atty too! She found some red eyeshadow too. She wasn't so sure if Gus would like to join them, but she'll ask him as well.

Augustus sighed, wondering when he'd been appointed hair dresser.
"Tell me when," he muttered, clipping off more hair.
Atty, who was bored, jumped up and down on the bed.

Eva giggled. She tried not to squirm. She would have gladly tried to do it by herself, but Gus was better at it. She watched as he cut away the edges. Strands of silvery white hair fell on the dresser table. She froze them. It was easier to pick up bits of frozen hair. She didn't want to leave a mess behind. Mommy and Papa won't like it.
"That's perfect!"
She beamed. She went and stood beside Gus and measured their height. She laughed. "Knew it! Atty and I are the same height! I'm only taller because of my ponytail."
"Shall we go now?" She asked as she climbed up the stool again and picking up the strands of hair.

Augustus sat the scissors down and watched Eva. He felt slightly odd that he was the tallest one.
"Let's!" Atty laughed, jumping off the bed and tackling Eva in one move.
Gus just nodded.

Eva laughed as she rolled on the floor with Atty. They stopped at the foot of the bed. She tickled him and got up. She briefly hugged her younger brother and then her older brother. "See you guys outside! I'm going to get changed first."
She ran out before peeping back inside. "Where are we heading?"
She didn't want to spend hours looking for her brothers later. There were so many places they can be. She suspected that Gus must have a secret map of the entire in his head. He knows so many neat places outside. Well, she thought they were neat! She was going to change into shorts, her favorite T-shirt and sneakers after this. It'll be easier to explore in them.

Augustus thought for a second.
"The lake?" he wondered aloud.
Atty beamed. They never went to the lake without their parents. Maybe they'd see a nymph! Gus sent him a look that clearyl said 'calm down'.

"Okay!"
Eva dashed out of the room and into her bedroom. She flung her cupboard doors open and pulled out a pair of shorts, her T-shirt and her sneakers. She slammed the door shut and locked it before she began changing. She sighed in frustration as she struggled with her shoe laces. She can't knot them properly. It's so hard! Finally, she was done!
She unlocked her door and opened it. She looked down the hallway. Only Tomtom was there. It was playing with a teddy bear. She put her fingers to her lips and winked. She went back inside and pushed a stool towards the window. She climbed up and opened the window. After that, she clambered up the windowsill and jumped. She ran straight towards the forest. The lake was up down the hill. She whooped!
She broke through the bushes and ran down the slope. She was almost there. She can't see the lake yet. The tall bushes and trees blocked her view. "Gus! Atty! Are you there?"
