Hey everyone, wishing you good luck on NaNo and hoping life treats you well. We’re working hard on Temecula here, ensuring that it’ll be done by the time most of us are out of school, or done with NaNo, and enjoying the winter holidays. Before we go any further with it, there is a small issues us GMs would like to ask all of you.
A few weeks ago, we thought up a stat and battle system in an attempt to make the Temecula RP refreshing and interactive. This; however, was turned down and scrapped as many players were confused by all the numbers and calculations. Today, we have thought of a different method and hope all of you will approve of this. We aren’t implementing this, just looking for your approval.
The stat and battle system will stay, but the GMs are the ones who will deal with the stats and number crunching. This means that we, the GMs, will do the hard work for you. This leaves the players to enjoy battling and engaging in the action of the Temecula RP. We have set up a poll and are waiting for you input. Simply post up your feedback or put in your vote, any is fine.
And, please, don’t hesitate to comment. ^_^

If the GMs do the number crunching for the battles, how would it work? Would the GMs post the results (damage, resistance etc) in the post after? Admittedly, I'm a little lost. :/ (Guess my mind is not working for me today- I think the Zombies ate my brain thinking it was halloween candy...)

Yes, that would be exactly what we envision it to be like. Once a character makes their move, the GM does the calculations and then, in the next post, puts down whether the attack was a hit or miss or what the enemy does in battle.
It's alright. XD Did they say what your brain tasted like? :3

They might have... though I can't remember :]
Hm... not sure how I feel about the new system yet- it could work... but personally I would be concerned that the GM calculation posts would disrupt the flow of the RPG- that is, if it's just numbers. If there's something interesting mentioned about the enemies or some other role-playing element... maybe. And what if the GMs don't log in as much and post as frequently as the players? ... how many GMs are there? Who are the GMs? You're one, right?
Then again, the instant feedback right in the thread visible for everyone to see would be good and the simplest way to get the information across...
Gah! Why'd those Zombies have to nibble on my brains?!

Well we won't put down the actual numbers down, aside from damage points and whatnot if we have the HP stat. The majority of the GM's post will be description based so the flow of the RP will run smoothly along with the others. It will include things like how the enemy dodged/deflected a player's attack, how they react, their dialog, their next move, etc.
So far... Comma, Raven1972, and I are the GMs of Temecula as we know more about Temecula. That and our timezones are very close with one another.
*hands you back a replacement* Hope that helps.

*Takes replacement* Thanks. Okay, yeah, that sounds a bit better in my head (with my new brains). I think that could work. Shall I officially vote in your little poll? Hmm...

...darn it, my computer won't let my vote go through. My vote is *Yes* if you're curious...

Really? Strange. What does it say?

... it doesn't. I click submit and it goes through the processing/load part and then it just stops. It doesn't actually follow through with the full action or reload the screen or anything... *sighs* I'll have to try it on a different computer later, I suppose...

It's doing the same for me but then I'm on an iPod, so that may be why. If I fail on a proper computer, I'm saying yes

Alright, that's two votes now. Thanks you two! ^_^ By the way... want to be penpals so we can discuss more about Temecula? :3
