WOAH! O.o You're old... -lmao- jk.
Anyways, I also live in the US (huge shocker, right?) and am also in my second year of college- though technically it's my first year outside of high school... (dang, now I'm starting to feel old...)

Well... this might sound silly... *looks randomly around* ...but what exactly is it? Every time I see the term, I think of some sort of music... um... system? Actually, not quite sure what I'm thinking it is... But then I heard it was an actual type of music? What separates it? Whatever you want to share is good, really.
Urm... what's your favorite part about it, fan club pres?

Well Vocaloid is simply a lyric/singing synthesizer software that was first developed by Yamaha. Then came Cypton Future Media, who got the license to the Vocaloid program and worked with it. They soon released Hatsune Miku, and that jumped start Vocaloid's popularity. Vocaloid isn't really a type of music per se, but it does use it's own mediums so people could consider it different. It simply boils down to what you perceive as genre of music.
Vocaloid is most popular in Japan and has had released its own album on the music market and, so far, has been through a couple of live concerts. What I love most about Vocaloid are their voices. For some reason, they appeal to me. Plus the lyrics and melodies the users of Vocaloid make are quite creative and refreshing. :3

How much have you two written while I was asleep?!?
I live in England in the South East and am in my first year of sixth form (taking my A levels if that makes more sense)
*gasps*
*makes mental note to look up vocaloid*
Can you have a look at my character thingy please and tell me if it's alright? I can come up with another backstory if it doesn't fit...

*snickers*
Huh? Your character? I read it not long after you first posted it. Personally, I thought it sounded good... but you're wondering about the curse factor, aren't you? Hm... it would make for some interesting RPing character-wise, but I'm not sure where the curse fits exactly in the magic world...groups... whatever. Maybe you can write it off as dark magic?
But just to check- what part of the backstory are you worried about, specifically?
--Wicked (Whom, despite it being really late/really early where they live, is still awake... terrible habit, I know... *sighs*)

Ah... sorry, willow. ><
I take that gasp as good thing? :3
Alright, sure thing, willow. ^_^ *goes to check* Oh, I like what I'm seeing. Very interesting backstory, has the potential to be developed into a story or plot, even a possible arc! :3 Hm... mutant shapeshifter... *is thinking* I think that's alright, but you should talk with Basil about the shapeshifter race as she knows them best. Oh, and don't worry about the magic aspect too much. The elements are basically physical forms the energies of magic can take. But that doesn't mean it only falls into those six elements. In Temecula, there are a whole range of branches of magic that range from teleportaion to sealing a contract/blood pact. For now, the elemental forces of magic are merely the destructive branch of magic, used mainly for attacking. Anyways, I think your character is good and mostly passable. We just need to tweak a few things and lay down a few more rules as the development of Temecula rolls on. You can start with Lucifer's personality. It's a bit general the way you described it so try to add in a bit more detail. Also what did his band of mages do to "corrupt" magic? Is it something similar to Fallen Magic?
And, yes, agreeing with Wicked's question, what part of Lucifer's backstory are you most worried about?

It was more of a general "does it clash with any of the planned storylines" question... Thanks guys, that was lovely and really useful -flomp- That's what gave me the idea - so far I'm thinking it's similar but perhaps more like long-term charming or cursing people or objects (?) The other mages I think wanted to weed out the weak and make life easier for the strong... And yh I'll add more now I know it's alright...

Alright, would love to see it. ^_^
Oh... that gave me an idea for a possible arc centered around Lucifer. It could also include that band of rogue mages you talked about. *is suddenly reminded of the Death Eaters from Harry Potter*
