Zen
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Race: Human/Dryad Hybrid
Physical Appearance: Asian. Slim, almost athletic. Has thick, black hair that's often unkempt. He doesn't comb his hair often. Has green eyes mixed in with a little brown. Doesn't care much for fashion, you can often see him wearing a simple dark blue jean with a simple black short-sleeve shirt. Stands at about 5'6''.
Though he appears human on the outside, Zen is a hybrid of dryad and human. He's more sensitive to the changes in temperature, the quality of the air, the amount of sunlight, basically anything that needs to do with the elements of the natural world. Everyday he needs to bask in the sunlight for half an hour. If he doesn't; he'll feel drained and tired, his body will literally look like its drooping and he'll lose some color.
Personality: Since becoming a Muse, Zen has matured and changed over time. He's still a bit on the quiet side but not as reclusive as before. There is still the issue with crowds; the more people there are in a conversation, the quieter Zen becomes. Zen often tends to keep his opinions to himself from fear of drawing unneeded attention. Polite, but sometimes too humble even when it comes to his mistakes and accidents.
Zen is against the idea of using his powers offensively or to harm others. He believes that doing so would cause more harm than good on others. He prefers to talk through his conflicts and problems rather than act with his fists. Take note that if Zen ever is in close proximity with pollen, he becomes very flirtatious.
Likes: Classical/instrumental music. Playing/walking in the woods and forests. Plants of all kinds. Resting and thinking under trees. Calming activities such as reading and gazing at the sky.
Dislikes: Loud noises such as booming music and those overly deep car engines. Rough-playing/physical sports. People who speak loudly. The smell of smoke or the exhaust of automobiles.
Abilities/Powers: Has the ability to commune with trees and call upon the powers and energies of Nature. Can rejuvenate dying plants and coax plants to grow or persuade them to shrink back into seeds. Because his powers are connected with Nature and the plants, Zen's powers will only work if there's plant life nearby. His powers were given to him by a dying dryad back in his world.
Over time, Zen has learned new abilities. Zen's forte are defensive and supportive aspects of Nature. Those include summoning vines to hold back his opponents or to catch falling teammates, healing (but that requires him to use up a lot of his energy as his healing powers is originally supposed to heal plants), and erecting up barricades of tree roots to shield people from harm.
Zen's ent form, as it is named, is when Zen transforms into an ent. Basically a walking tree. In this form, Zen has complete connection with Nature and the extent of his powers grow. Being a tree, Zen is able to send out root, vines, and other features of trees and plants from his bodies without limit.
Backstory: Zen is basically your normal/average human kid. But his personality is what sets him apart from his peers back in his world, he's not like the other boys. Because of his difference and weak appearance, Zen gets picked on a lot by those stronger than him. Things changed when he was five. One day he was enjoying himself in the woods when he stumbled upon a dying dryad. The spirit sensed Zen's compassion for the forests and Nature. As a last act before death, she bestowed Zen with a fragment of her soul. Thus granting him his powers and new senses. Since becoming a Muse, Zen has learned and matured through the help of his friends and his experiences.
Relationships
Enz: The beginning of their relationship was a rocky one, with Enz trying to kill Zen out of jealousy. Over time, the two of them have formed a brotherly bond and a somewhat telepathic connection. They are, after all, twins.
Raymond: Zen sees the doctor as a big brother of sorts. The boy enjoys Raymond's optimistic and patient nature and finds comfort near his presence. Being half-dryad, Zen often helps the doctor when he's looking for certain herbs or ingredients.
Skipbeat: Zen finds the nervous Decepticon likable and sympathizes him when Enz pokes fun at Skipbeat or when the Cybertronian shares his less-than-enjoyable past. Zen tries to find ways to make Skipbeat come out of his shell and simply enjoy life.
Marcus: During his time in the Shadow World, and an accidental exposure to pollen, the Shadow Man has caught Zen's heart. In short, Zen is in love and the two of them are in a romantic relationship. Zen loves Marcus' easy-going nature. But despite that the two of them are in love, Zen is inexperienced and doesn't know how to deal with the strange feelings he gets when with Marcus.
