I recently watched a movie called, "You Don't Know Jack". It was about Jack Kevorkian. A doctor who killed at least 130 patients via doctor assisted suicide. Here's the wiki link about him: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_KevorkianNow. Here's my veiws. I don't think this guy was wrong in what he did. He helped people with absolutely no chance of getting better to die on their own terms. Since my mom is ill, I can understand why someone would want to die on their own terms. After all, who wants to suffer the indignity of being locked up in some home or hospital, where the only reason they put up with you is for money, to be stuck in a bed all the time while your family forgets about you? I sure as all hell wouldn't. And I wouldn't want to put my family through it, either. So my question is, is it really that inhumane for a doctor to help a patient commit suicide?

This basically boils down to a person's right to want to die or have control over the time of their death. With this situation; yes, what the doctor did was humane as he helped end the suffering of his patients. What else is that he got the consent of his patients to perform euthanasia on them. It really is no different mercy killing if you think about it.
Yes, it's a doctor's oath and job to help people live and keep them healthy. But with what we have now, we can't save everyone. If the patient do wishes to end their suffering or make their passing come sooner, then so be it. It's their choice and their freedom to choose whether they want to die or not. I think it's a bit inhumane to take that freedom away from someone.

I know that I would choose death rather than be looked after constantly. Because when you think about it - it's just waiting to die. Lying in bed or wherever - that isn't living.
