Oooh, that can be fun! Give me one sample argument you have with the people there. In ninegag I just read the jokes, i didn't join the site. Never even thought about joining. I let a few days pass before reading some new posts there and I do it only when I'm extremely bored or depressed.
Hmm... I guess since I don't study anymore(already graduated from college) that's why my brain didn't help with the metabolism as much as it used to LOL. There are people that are very thin when they were young then as they get older they grow wider. I'm one of those
You have gotta work out and do more physical activities. If you become obese, that would be a problem, your health will be compromised.

Same here. I keep on promising myself to avoid the comment section so I can enjoy the site for what it is, but... I keep lying to myself. XD
In reality, I don't think any of us stop studying. We constantly research, look things up, and learn new things. We are far from acquiring new perspectives and knowledge. It can be tiring, yes, but it makes life much more fun and worth living. Well, in my case. : )
Not only that, but obesity can also decrease your chance of unemployment. It's sad, but it's also true because of discrimination and health cost.
Oh yes! This is my Pottermore username. :3 GalleonFrog16637

haha, you gotta try harder to avoid them then, it's all up to you. XD
Hmm, well, what i meant was that I don't study as intensively as I used to, hehe. That's why I mentioned stop studying, sorry I have to be better at phrasing things. OOOhh, we are the same, I like researching on google to get some answers I need. Like for example, i want to learn how to hula hoop, I researched on youtube about it and learned some tricks just by watching. It was fun to learn, but school is such a drag forcing us to study things we are not interested in. How about you? What have you learned through your researches? Share them with me!hehe
Oh yeah, that too! I heard that some singapore hospitals don't accept obese people in some jobs, I haven't really thought about the reason but now that you have told me about health costs, it makes sense!
I'll find you! I'm WitchErised10309 XD
Sorry for the late reply, have I told you that I have started to work again? hehe, as a nurse this time, really tiring, but better than being unemployed right?

Let's... I found that there is no debate in the scientific community on climate change and that it's just media and the politicians distorting data and facts and the public not really receiving the pure truth. Also that because of this, people become even more of an annoyance to talk to unless I talk with someone who's part of a science field. It's extremely frustrating. Maybe this is why doctors and scientists separate themselves from the public.
Indeed it does because obese people are more likely to face health complications plus they might need special treatment to get around such as wider doors and seats. But it's also sad that people discriminate against them in the workplace, at the same time... it's all maintenance cost hiring obese people because of the potential risks and strain.
Yup, it is. What are your hours?

I refuse to believe everything that is shown on media, for all we know they could be just cover ups set up by some people.
It's good that we are not obese. My father is though, -sigh- he never listens to what i say even though he made me study in nursing school, he doesn't follow what i say when it comes to health matters. he still thinks i'm the younger one and since he is older, he is right. argh, what an old fashioned way of thinking it's so annoying. Yep, i have a friend who also wants to become a nurse. he plans to lose a lot of weight so he can work in Singapore someday.
The hours i work change, there are three shifts, the coordinator will decide the shifts for us and it can change every 15 days they say when i become a regular worker there: morning 6am to 2pm afternoon 2pm to 10pm night 10pm to 6am
all shifts are tiring hehe

Hahaha! That too. XD
Argh! That kind of thinking really infuriates me to no end! DX I understand that we should respect our elders, but not blindly follow them especially when they're not keeping up with the times! DX What does he usually say to you? You can try to present scientific data, but science even has stated that it cannot change the thoughts and habits of people and that is one of the limit of science.
Oh gods... that night shift. @_@ But you only have to do one shift I hope. D:

Oh, he tells me a lot of things. He's a good father but sometimes he can be very annoying. He hates it when i complain. I can't blame him for hating me, I am annoying too. But when I tell him some advice, he rarely listens. My parents are very protective and supportive. They want things to be easier for me, but then how will i learn to be independent if they keep this up?
Our shift changes every time, We have no fixed shift and fixed days for day offs. Any day can be a day off. Sometimes we even work on sundays and saturdays. It's not fun at all. The hospital place is so ... dull. I don't like being there. Right now, I'm figuring out ways to find a job i would really enjoy. Like maybe a graphic artists, so now I'm starting to practice on photoshop cs4. My boyfriend's my teacher.... and he's such a pervert. instead of teaching me, we just keep kissing LOL, wait i shouldn't be telling you that. Forget that. hehe

That is true. There's probably a fine line between being nurturing to your children and protecting them to giving them some freedom to gain some insight and experience from the world.
Aw... doesn't sound good at all. D: By dull, do you mean the decor and atmosphere? Such things can negatively impact the mentality of staff and patients. Do you get a lot of patients? Such is the schedule of those working in medical fields. You guys do a lot of good, only wish the world gave back in kind. >:
Oh Frappe! *giggles and blushes* Well it's good you're pursuing your dream/wishes. Just make sure you can support yourself and that you have a plan. Don't go running into something in hopes you'll get it without any forethought. I have a friend who's in college, freshly attending it, who has the idea of wanting to work as a comic artist in a comic book industry. That's fine and all, but she has no Plan B or any interests in anything but comics and drawing and it both frustrates and worries me. But it's her life... =_=

So right! Have you ever felt that way towards your parents? It's frustrating especially at our age, when our parents don't give us enough freedom.
LOL yes, there's barely any decor at all! Except for the bulletin board and the children's playroom for pediatric patients but that's as far as it goes. The lights make me sleepy too, I like sunlight better. Well, it's really dull when you are surrounded by a lot of sick people and you get to be very busy during work, i hardly get to sit down. We get a lot of patients, especially during these months since there's dengue fever that affects mostly children, which can be really deadly That's really nice writer, well, i can say that those nurses and other staff aren't really expecting anything from the world, they only give service and that's that.
Well, I should be the one blushing but... I guess I got too used to my perverted boyfriend. He may be perverted but he's loyal and kind, smart.... and sometimes stupid. That's the problem with artists. It's not a stable job, it requires a lot of passion. My back up plan is nursing since it's a job that is sought anywhere in the world, and we play very important roles too. However, my heart ain't in it. I like to help people, don't get me wrong. It's just that I'm not me around the hospital so unlike when i'm online with you guys or talking to my otaku friends. -sob- Well, the dream about being a graphic artists i'm afraid i don't have enough determination and conviction... for some reason my current job just drains me and by the time i get home i get really lazy, just sit watch one piece on tv LOL
What about you? Plans for the future? dreams?
I admire your friend's determination to pursue her dream, it's a tough path she is taking I hope she will achieve her dream. Though it might be hard for her, I guess since her heart's in it, she'll be happy. Besides she decided that on her own. Not someone like me who had her parents decide her path all her life and can barely fight for her own independence.

Indeed it is frustrating and rather annoying when I hear parents trying to impose their dreams on their children. Of course we might have to also understand it from their views as to why they might want to guide us. One of their reason is that it is the role of the parent to teach and guide their children on the right path. Another could be that they once had a horrible childhood facing poverty and starvation because their parents held low-income jobs and were uneducated. They took their experience and want to give their children a better life by encouraging them to be more studious and hard-working so their financial and career future should be relatively safe.
Ugh... that's not good at all for you, the staff, and patients. D: You need a well-lit, cheerful building so that it can improve staff morale and the mood of the patients who are trying to recover. Psychology can play a great role in the physical, especially in the realm of the physiological. *sigh* It's a thankless job, isn't it? >:
Hahaha! You boyfriend amuses me. XD Allow me to come over and share that love. *giggles* I'm just kidding. XD Indeed. The fields of art is very tricky and, really, one shouldn't frolic in it and expect a successful and easy life. They also shouldn't think so naively that they will attain their dream from it with 100% success because doing so is foolish and dangerous. Such high hopes can lead to disaster if it is crushed. ... I feel like I've said this before. >.>
Ugh, I know that feeling. It's the same how I feel after school. I go through my classes exhausted and brain-dead. All I do is sit in front of the computer and do random things.
Indeed. It is her life and her choices. She will have to deal with her consequence or reap the rewards. *sigh* I shouldn't be too concerned with her. >_<
Hm... dreams? Plans? Well... I guess publishing a book and having it read by people, good or ill reviews... I don't really mind. Hm... making the Realm idea here on WTRP to become a reality. Crazy things like those. It's all in reserve. Right now I'm concentrating on pursuing a career in geology. Math and science is fascinating in it's own way. : P

That's true. I guess when I'm a parent I would also do that, just to make sure my children would find themselves in a stable job and family. It would have been easier if the parents and their children dreamed of the same thing, too bad that isn't usually the case.
Hehe, if I owned that hospital I would make a lot of changes to it. But anyway, at least the hospital is located where you can see green mountains. Thankless it is. Though it's no surprise and I'm not upset about it. Personally, I just want those patients to get well and go home right away, then I wouldnt be so busy XD and getting the job done is all I could think about, not rewards. I believe I will only suffer more disappointments if I chase after rewards.
I'm sure things will go crazy if you ever get to see my boyfriend. haha, share the love? I'm not sure what you mean but you're welcome to do whatever you want to my boyfriend, but don't take him away, I love that idiot. Very few succeed in the artist career. I don't even have the guts to take the risk of being one. Don't really know where I should be at this point.
Everyone does it I guess, hehe, relaxing right after a tough day. Who wouldn't want to relax?
Just remember that she decided that for herself and you are not to blame if anything bad happens to her.
Woah, well, it's expected since this is a writers' forum after all. Most of the members would want to publish their own works some day. Geology? Hmm, not a very common career choice. ^_^ I'm sure you'll do well in that career though, you seem really interested in it.

Ack! I'm sorry for the late reply, Frappe. >_< Summer class started and it's been busy once more. All my energy... *withers*
I think that's where the conflict starts is because of the difference of perspectives. I'm not sure if it's constant, but my parents came from a poor upbringing because of the conflicts between China and Taiwan. I guess their experience have made them frugal, more grateful for life, and a growing desire to stress about our financial future. Maybe that's how many parents see it as which path will give us a more secure future and life? They really do worry about us. For us, on the other hand, we might wish to pursue our dreams. We've grown up on the words to achieve greatness and our independence. This would no doubt clash with our parents who wish for us to pick something that is reasonable.
Aw... Frappe. *hugs* At least the green hills are a plus.
*giggles* Oh... you have given me permission? It's very tempting. >D
I've heard there are a lot of openings for geology now, even though most of the jobs are... *ahem* less than eco-friendly. Oil companies... >_>
How have you been? ^_^

No problem, writer. You do what you have to do.
If the world wasn't such a difficult place to live in, then maybe all of us would be chasing our dreams now, more happy than we are now. Reality, though, always gets in the way. All we can do is... hmm.. stop complaining and do what we have to do and do what is right. Easier said than done eh?
XD I don't really get it, but alright!
Haha, do whatever you want with him. That boyfriend of mine has tormented me for years with his perverted-ness. I survived somehow. XP
That's good! But are you willing to go to an oil company and work for them? You gotta be prepared.
Stressed out from work, I barely have time to eat and sit down during working hours. I'm afraid I'd get varicose veins! 0_0

That is true, however, people's supposed dream might be very biased against what is reality. I have suspected that people are more interested in the arts than in the sciences and logistics of society and the economy. The things is that there will be jobs no one ever wants to do, but there has to be people to do them because they are the careers that keep our civilization afloat. Without some difficulties, we wouldn't be able to shape and mature our perception of life and rework our priorities. *giggles* You make him sound so cute. XD Well... it pays the bills and at least the oil companies are trying to fund renewable energy, though they're not doing it with the planet on mind. >.< >_< *huggles* Maybe ask you boyfriend to massage you?
