Why am I getting my hopes up? I keep making the mistake of thinking I'm important in these matters. I'm not. I'm below them, evidently.

So I'm going out to the pub on Friday for my 18th and I've invited 9 friends along. So far 5 people have got back to me and, even though some of them live far away, all of them have said they're coming! And now I feel EPIC -does happy dance-

So I had 2&1/2 glasses on champers about 8 hours ago and I still feel strange... I'm such a lightweight it's not even funny. And I have to say that if that's what you feel like when you're just woozy I'll leave the getting properly drunk to others, thanks. The other aspects of the meal were good though... but seriously why do people go out to get hammered?

People like this really annoy me. I just want to tell this person to get out of their own arse and realise that all real Tolkien fanatics can speak Sindarin and/or Quenya, and actually the suffix thing is really basic. 'oh, look at me! I can do this, therefore I am vastly superior to you!' Actually anyone who reads Elf-centric Tolkien fanfiction is expected to know what: ion (nin), hannon le, mae govannen, mae, law, baw, mellon, meldir, meldis, mellyn, gwador, daro, haro, bado, novaer, Edhel, Edhil, Adain, Edain, ernil and aran mean. Their arguement is invalid.

I'm happy because I just found the explanation of Elves, Men and Vampires what I wrote (by hand, don't know why) for this original idea I have. I thought I'd lost it and I couldn't remember some crucial information. Thing is I can tell I was reading The Silmarillion when I wrote it as my style is more like Tolkien's than it usually is. As mortal men began to die, the living envied the Elves who would live for ever. And as the world changed, the Elves envied the men who has a place and purpose in it. As the resentment grew, the men increased their knowledge of the world and kept improving their technology, whereas the Elves endeavoured to keep their world the same. Now there came a time when the men decided to punish the Elves for their arrogance. I think it's the 'Now' at the beginning of the sentence that clinches it for me. I never usually do that.

The old US plantation houses are among the prettiest houses I have ever seen! I mean I know they were built on the back of slavery and other abhorent things but almost everything we Brits now take for granted was some of them are just eyegasmic. Why don't we build with wood here in the UK? If they can build timber houses in the Mississippi swamps then what's our excuse?

I really want to see The Avengers for quite a while now, not just because the whole film looks epic and everyone who's seen it says it's really good, but because I think Loki looks so cool (and schmexy) and generally badass. So what did I rediscover about 10 minutes ago? Tom Hiddleston (who plays him for those who don't know) was on the shortlist along with David Tennant and Lee Pace to play... guess who? Thranduil.
My brain just imploded. >.<

Every so often I think I should saboutage my French exam so I go to Bangor... but then I think how much better the course is at Lancaster so I revert to original plan of doing my best but if something has to go then let French slide and keep going with English and Psychology.

I just watched Thor for the first time. Loki omg Loki! -fangirl squee- reminds me of Maeglin... because absolutely everything can be linked to The Silmarillion.
EDIT: can someone please enlighten me as to why I let myself think that, considering my brain's annoying habit of merging characters together? So far it's linked Éomer with Alistair of Cadbol (Keepers and Seekers); Erestor with Lorlen (The Black Magician Trilogy); and Louis with Jaques (As You Like It). and now next time I read about Maeglin he'll be moping round Gondolin with a goat's horns helmet on his head. Thanks, brain, thanks a lot >.<
