Hello everyone, I hope your Christmas and New Year holidays went well. ^_^
We, the moderators of Temecula, would like to apologize for the sudden stagnation that has gripped the RP. The development of the RP went into a standstill with the coming of NaNoWriMo and then all activity flat lined the days after. This is understandable given the fact that Christmas and New Year is known to be notoriously hectic the day before, during, and after said events. But we are to be blamed as we are the moderators and it is supposed to be our responsibility to resume work in preparing the Temecula RP once things have settled down.
With that, we would like to announce the changes that are taking place in the development of Temecula. After some discussion we have noticed that, before the stagnation, Temecula’s development has been sluggish to say the least. This is largely at our fault for not planning out the elements of Temecula well beforehand. We have realized it would have been best to fully develop all the ideas and plots before announcing the Temecula RP. We are now in a rut where we are constantly throwing ideas at one another, but never reaching a concrete verdict.
Because of this, we have decided that all planning and development will be done solely by the moderators of Temecula and the formulation will follow the original ideas and plans we had for the RP. Once we have the ideas nearly drawn out, we will share the prototypes of said ideas with the rest of the members for any final opinions before we implement the finished products. This is will help ensure that you, the players, will now have a blueprint of sorts to mold your characters and stories rather than wait around for us to announce the ideas in parts. This process will yield less hassle and will speed up Temecula’s development.
Following this, we regret to announce that, as of now, all ideas and suggestions for the products (when we announce and present them) will be under heavy scrutiny from the moderators. If a suggestion is deemed too radical or veers far from the intended plan of Temecula, it will be scrapped without question. We hate to sound harsh, but there is a fine line between getting ideas into gear and having too many ideas without any results coming out. Temecula has been delayed for too long and it is now time to take some initiatives and authority over its development.
A second item in our agenda is Temecula itself. We have now decided that Temecula will be considered PG-13 for use of alcohol, fantasy violence, and the allowance of suggestive themes. This means that the Temecula RP will contain slightly mature themes and will be somewhat flexible with what happens in the RP. HOWEVER, be mindful that we must maintain some order and moral in Temecula. The rules of WTRP STILL apply to the Temecula RP and there is to be NO sex scenes and overly graphic violence and gore. Since Temecula is PG-13, swearing is allowed but it is recommended to keep it at a minimum. Please keep the RP as clean as possible; we have some underage members here.
On a similar note, the golden rules of RP’ing apply to the Temecula RP. There is to be no god modding and power playing. Everyone deserves a time in the spotlight. Be respectful to your fellow players and display proper etiquette. You will find, at times, that your character might be defeated in battle. Whining and complaining will get you nowhere. Accept your defeat with honor and go with the flow of the story until your character recovers for the next battle. Sportsmanship is important in this RP as combat will be one of the key elements in Temecula. Also, please use common sense when RP’ing in Temecula. Most rules of reality apply to the RP and to all characters to ensure a balance in power and interaction in the RP world. Internet and forum drama is absolutely, and we stress this seriously, NOT allowed in the Temecula RP. Players will be asked to resign from Temecula if they bring their unwanted troubles into the RP.
That is all for now and we hope all of you will enjoy Temecula once we have it completed (or that this announcement hasn’t scared you all away XD). ^_^ Updates will come along the way shortly as Raven1972 is working diligently with the weapons and magic thread to give everyone a sample of what combat is to be like in Temecula.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to post them below. ^_^
Don’t worry, we won’t bite. XD
