My best friend and I went out last night for the first time in ages. She just needed to get out of her house and had some free time and wanted to go rent a movie and invited me to come along. We came out of the movie rental place and ended up sitting in the car talking for a while.
So at one point we saw a stray cat limp past the car in the parking lot. It got close enough to the car that it was pretty clear its right front paw was broken. We're both animal lovers, we were both all "Aaaawwww D':" Unfortunately, taking it home kinda wasn't an option for either of us. We both have too many animals, and I know I couldn't have afforded the vet bills to get the poor thing the help it needed so its paw would heal right. Kinda got me a little depressed. The cat ended up limping around near the sidewalk afterwards and following people around a little. Seemed like it probably hadn't been a stray for long with as social as it was. Everyone was just shooing it off, thus reinforcing my irritation with humanity on the whole.
Maybe five minutes after it had limped past the car, it finally got someone's attention. A woman who'd been about to enter a store in the same complex as the movie rental place. She stopped and got it to come over to her, picked it up, and took it back to her car and left without even going in the store.
And we were like "Aaaaawwwwww :'D"
It's good to know that there are still kindhearted people around, and even better to have witnessed it for myself.

Just watched Matrix for the first time since I was roughly knee-high to a grasshopper... and Akino had to stick around for it. As if he wasn't afraid enough of robots and technology...

... Which is, I suppose, why he's been jumping at small noises and eying my computer like it's possessed since we returned to my room...
