My English department are infamous Tolkien haters so I may have to put this on the whiteboards on my last day: ..muse-permitting of course Eldu: I'm not that deranged! Eli: You are a bit deranged though Eldu: Truly, you kindness knows no bounds.

The lack of hand-eye-graphics tablet coordination (and pixelation) messed up handwriting but yeah, have a written argument -shifty-

So I subtly colourised this image of Andrej Pejic to try and show what Lovai's actual eye and hair colour is. It's only slight because otherwise it looks weird but I think it works. Almost. Ish. What do you guys think? >.<

This is what my stories look like in very raw form when I've had an idea and want to record it but can't proserise (because that is so a word) them. Maybe I should try writing scripts... ERUWEST: …now that Beren has gifted a Silmaril to His Majesty.
NENROS: There’s a Silmaril here? [‘aaah SHIT!’ emotion goes here] - You are all doomed! A Silmaril has been brought into your midst, and with it has come your destruction. Thingol, Your Majesty, can’t you see? Have you fallen at the last from wisdom into folly?
THINGOL: Who are you to accuse me so? You owe your very existence to me. I have dozens of cases for your banishment but I, seeing as you have nowhere else, have allowed you to stay. So you will hold your tongue and call me gracious.
NENROS: I know that you are gracious beyond measure, my lord, but I beseech you, for my love for you and for your people, to see what has befallen. You have been dazzled by this evil and unless you are very careful it will ruin you as it has ruined so many others. So I implore you, when the Sons come asking for it, for they will, please, sire, for the good of your people, just give it to them.
THINGOL: How dare you? Would that you had perished in your wanderings. What business is it of yours what I do with my own?
NENROS: No business, and all business. The Fëanorionan are not evil, lord, but they have sworn an oath and they have come thus far so they will see it through, even to the death which some have already suffered.
THINGOL: First you question my judgement, and now you would excuse those who threaten my kingdom! Have him removed! Give him the banishment long overdue.
ERUWEST: He is but a maverick, sire! The stresses of journeying through the falling world have warped his mind-
NENROS: I see more clearly now than I have ever seen in my life. Banish me if it pleases you, sire, but I count myself one of the Eluwaith in heart if not in title. I love you, my king, and though you might banish me from your lands I shall defend your people – my kin in all but blood. I shall defend the people you are so reluctant to protect.
THINGOL: You have gone too far. I shall have you slain!
NENROS: No! For you are better than that, sire.
THINGOL: Be that so? Then I sentence you to wander far from this place and to die as you will as quickly as may be.
NENROS: In that case, sire, I shall die defending your people from the danger that jewel is blinding you to. I bid thee farewell, and go to lay down my life so that yours may be prolonged.

I've done this Which Silmarillion character are you? test twice now - far enough apart fro me to forget my first answers - and both times Eol came out way in the lead. Me gonna kidnapp my husband... it would seem. EDIT: There are 25 characters listed so it's pretty broad really

From Tolkien Gateway
my mental comentary
Elrond was born at the Havens of Sirion [N'awww] late in the First Age [He missed all the fun]. His parents were Eärendil and Elwing. He was thus Half-elven: Eärendil was the child of the mortal Tuor and the elf Idril, while Elwing was the grandchild of Beren (a Man) and Lúthien (daughter of the Elf-king Thingol and the Maia Melian). Consequently, Elrond was descended from all three tribes of the Elves (Vanyar and Noldor through Idril, Sindar through Luthien), a Maia, and all three houses of the Edain (Hador, Haleth and Bëor). [Bloody hell, some people just want it all!][/color] Elrond had a twin brother [Does having twins skip every other generation? No, cause Elrond had twins... hmmm], Elros, who later became the first king of Númenor. When the Sons of Fëanor attacked the Havens of Sirion, Elrond and his brother were taken captive by Maglor [nyoink!], and were subsequently raised by him. Following the War of Wrath, because of his Half-elven heritage the Valar gave Elrond and his brother a choice whether to be counted among the kindred of Elves or of Men [How considerate]. Elrond chose to belong to the Firstborn, while Elros chose to become mortal [so much angst potential!]. Elrond subsequently remained in Lindon with Gil-galad, where he became known as a healer and loremaster [and big-headed, depending on who you ask about him. not naming anyone...].

There's this '___'s name means' thing going on on tumblr which you may or may not already know about. The person RPing as Thranduil tried it and got:
Thranduil’s name means: 1) A dysfunctional brain. 2) Will never be popular.
My head!canon has just appeared on the internet O.o
(This also comes the day after I tried (and failed) to bully Phoenix into telling me what Thranduil means...)
