Gus had teleported himself and Atty to the lake. Atty jumped in almost immediately. Augustus could've banged his head on a tree. There went the plan of not letting their parents know.
"Eva?" he called in response to hearing his name. Gus shivered slightly.

"Here!"
Eva burst through the bushes and tackled Gus. She hugged him before heading off to the lake. She stood at the edge. She peered down. She grinned when she noticed her little brother had already jumped in. She ran back and jumped in as well. She surfaced moments later. She turned to Gus.
"Gus! Come in! The water isn't so cold today."
She smiled encouragingly. "Don't worry, we can dry up before we go home. All we need to do is build a fire!"

Augustus shook his head.
"Father said not to go in!" he insisted as Atty splashed Eva.
"Spoil sport," Atty pouted, attempting to splash his brother. "C'mon, Au! It's fun!"

Eva tried to shield her eyes but it didn't work. She rubbed them before splashing Atty back. She swam closer to the edge and rested her arms on the bank. She could feel the grass tickling her skin. She looked up. "Don't worry so much. I don't think anything nasty lives here."
She did a backstroke. When she was far enough, she tried to splash Gus as well. "Come on, big bro! Atty's right. Don't be a spoil sport!"

But Father said there were nymphs.... Augustus thought, remembering the horrible things he'd read about water nymphs doing to people. After a moment, Gus kicked off his shoes, pulled off his shirt and jumped in.
"Whoo-hoo!" Atty shouted cheerfully, flailing around and drenching everyone further. He attempted to tackle his brother and failed, splashing Eva in stead.
Gus ducked under water, swam a few feet, then came back up. Was it his imagination...or had the bird stopped singing?

Eva whooped when she saw Gus talking off his shoes and shirt. "Way to go Gus!"
She turned around only to get splashed. She gasped. She rubbed the excess water out of her eyes. She dove and emerged behind Atty. "Boo!"
She splashed Atty back. She continued horsing around with him until she noticed Gus' expression. She turned to him. "Something's wrong?"

Atty yelped and accidentally went underwater for a moment. He came back up, coughed and swam a little way aways for a moment, trying to decide on a counter attack.
"N-nothing," Gus said, not really meaning it. He swam in place a moment, then blinked as something brushed his foot. "Um...do we have fish in here?"

"Fish?"
Eva frowned. "I never see them around before."
She saw a something moving in the water. She moved back a little. She looked at Gus and Atty. Did they see it too? She looked up. "Erm... Maybe I was wrong?"
She didn't want to suggest getting out of the water just yet, but her instincts told her that they should get out quickly. She bit her lip. No, she better not risk it. Papa said they had to be careful. "Guys, let's get out?"

"Why?" Atty inquired curiously. He looked at his siblings for a moment. "Wha--oomph!"
"Atty!" Gus yelped, as his brother's head vanished below the water. He swam towards the spot, knowing that he was being foolish but not caring. It was his brother. They may not always get along...but no one was allowed to hurt Atty but him. The boy dove under water, coming face to face with one of the so called nymphs. Gus flailed as the nymph's hands came around his wrist and attempts to drag him down.
Atty struggled for a moment before becoming a bit too still.

Eva stared. She watched as Gus dove under the lake after Atty. She swam over to the spot. She gulped. If she ran back, it might be too late. They needed some kind of weapon. She lay her hand on the surface of the water and began freezing it.
When she was done, she had made a thin ice rod. She tested the pointy end. She hoped it didn't melt by the time she reached them. She took a deep breath and dove under. She could see her brothers blurry shapes in the water. One of the nymphs was trying to grab Gus. She stabbed its wrist with all her might. She let go when she felt the rod splintering. That was pathetic!
"What do we do?" She thought.

The nymph let out a shrill shriek and let go of Gus, charging for Eva instead. It tried to pull her under.
Gus dove after Atty and attemped to tug him up. It didn't work. his brother was too heavy under water and the other nymph was too strong. HELP! Gus thought, pushing the thought into the minds of everyone and anyone who could possibly hear it. Help us!
The air was running out and constricting Augustus' lungs. But he wasn't worried about that. He was worried about how Atty looked like a ragdoll when he tugged at him. And he was worried about his sister, who he wasn't sure where she was.

Eva tried to kick herself lose. She stopped. She was going to tire herself out at this rate. She could feel her lungs screaming for more air. She was useless if she can't do something. She was too far away to try and scratch the nymph's eyes. She grimaced a little as she bend forward as far as she could and pulled the nymph's wrist towards her. She cringed when she felt the cold, slimy flesh. She opened her mouth and bit it... hard!
"This is worse than Brussels sprouts!" She thought.
She was never going to complain about eating veggies again. She could feel the blood in her mouth. She tried her best not to swallow it. She can't spit it out now.She felt the nymph let go. She quickly tried to swim away from it. It was going to be mad!
"Gus! How are you and Atty?" She thought desperately.
She was very worried about her brothers. Were they having difficulty with the nymphs as well? Papa and Mommy are going to be so angry! She felt something grabbing her ankle again. She swore mentally. It was that nymph. Why won't it give up?

Atty stopped moving, Gus thought back, not realizing that he was still thinking to everyone. He continued tugging on Atty.
A bright blue sword pieced the nymph through the heart. It's grip slackened as blood filled the water. A figure with white hair grabbed Eva's arm and attempted to pull her back to shore.
Gus struggled someone pulled him close. He looked sideways and recognized his uncle's jacket. Dante kicked the nymph who was holding Atty in the face. and dragged both of his nefews up.
Eva... Gus thought, wondering where she was.
The water rippled from near the center of the lake...apparently the rest of the nymphs had woken up.

Eva blinked as she saw the bright blue sword flash past her. It impaled the nymph's chest. She felt its grip slacken. She realized it was her father. She didn't know what to do. She bet he was furious. She let him drag her back to shore.
"Papa found me. Gus, is Atty going to be okay?"
She turned around nervously when the water rippled. There were more of them? She didn't know that so many lived in the lake. Weren't they just things found in books? She gasped as they broke through the surface of the lake. She turned around. Her father wasn't there. She climbed onto the bank.
Should she go and tell Mommy? Gus probably did that's why Papa and Uncle Dante are there. Papa will be madder if she left. He could be just as mad if she stayed. She knelt down at the edge and peered out into the lake. She was watching anxiously for the rest to surface.

Vergil dove back underwater the second Eva was on the shore. Yes, he was thuroughly ticked off with his children for disobeying his...request. But he was madder at the nymphs who dared attack them. He swam over to his brother and took Atty from him, gesturing feverently that Dante should return to the shore. His brother nodded and carried his struggling nefew back to land.
A dozen specteral swords appeared behind the elder twin. He would have smirked, had he not been trying to conserve his air. He loosed the swords on the impending horde of nymphs and swam back to shore.
Vergil laid Atty on the ground, frowing to himself. His son wasn't breathing.
"Wha--" Dante stopped midquestion and began rumaging through his pockets. After a moment he passed his twin a vibrant green star.
Gus sat by Eva and reached for her hand. He was worried and nervous.
