Remember the river Styx? One drop will steal your memory? Yeah, that's nothing next to this. You can swim in the water if you're that kind of daredevil, speak to the death related oddities it attracts but for the sake of the deity of your choice do not drink the water!

Shiny yellow pixels glowed in the air. They shimmered for a second then disappeared, only to reappear shortly after. They began assuming the shape of young boy. A pair of eyes opened and blinked. Their startling blue contrasted with the yellow white silhouette formed by the pixels. Strands of blonde hair took shape followed by the rest of his body. His outfit was similar to a young Victorian lord’s. The boy brushed imaginary dust off his lacey cuffs and snorted.
“Finally! I got rid of that bitch.”
He wasn’t talking about Mother, of course. The person in question was his annoying older twin sister. It was preposterous. She was created after him yet she gets to be older. It will forever be one of those things that made life all the more bitter.
Slowly, the youth squatted down and reached for the water. His fingers fizzed slightly as a curious crackling sound could be heard. Undeterred, he continued holding his fingers underneath the surface of the water. Soon they stabilized again.
“Not quite your usual dihydrogen monoxide,” he announced smugly.
There was something he couldn’t quite identify. A nice little puzzle to keep his mind distracted from SERA and her insufferable nonsense.

x J A N U S x ------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Yes, I've heard the place is supposed to be cursed or something," agreed the faun sitting against a nearby tree, tuning a recently restored mandore. He had assumed a darker color of hair and tanner complexion than usual to blend in a bit better against the dark trunk of his tree with the hopes of remaining unnoticed, watching as nature passed him by. This boy, however, had appeared quite miraculously out of thin air, in a much different fashion than any sort of teleportation he had ever witnessed, almost like watching an image load on a computer screen. Nothing very natural about that.
"Apparently you aren't supposed to drink the water, for whatever reason. Pity. It's quite a beautiful place otherwise. I wouldn't mind living here."
In truth, he had lived in this forest for some time; the old alchemist that had used him as a test subject lived in a cabin in the forest not five miles from here, yet this was the first time Janus had ever stumbled across this place. Is this the real life? (*awkward* Mind if I join you people?)
Tsubasa winced as he landed heavily on the hard earth, having being thrown violently out of Mokona's mouth once again as they arrived in a new dimension. The black pork bun landed on his head with its usual "welcome to a new world" announcement, and he swept it off casually.
"...You've lost them again," he commented dryly after he took a quick scan around him. He found it rather amusing that this living device that helped him and his companion to cross over the different realms had the tendency to separate the gang each time they land in a new place.
"Puu~ Mokona has no control as to how we arrive in a new world-"
Tsubasa raised an eyebrow and got to his feet. "I'd just have to go search for them so that we can move on, right?" He called forth his sword, which materialized in his hand, and hacked through the thicket. It didn't take him long - soon he saw the outline of a waterfall ahead, but paused and stuffed Mokona under his cloak when he noticed two silhouettes conversing with each other at the edge of the water.
He watched them quietly with caution, tightening his grip around his sword. He frowned when he one of them said, "Apparently you aren't supposed to drink the water, for whatever reason. Pity. It's quite a beautiful place otherwise. I wouldn't mind living here."
Cursed water? He thought as he looked up at the waterfall. He wondered if this waterfall was related in any way to the very thing he had been searching for...

(^^ Hi tsubasa! Welcome! Hahaha I’m fine with you joining.)
SETH listened for awhile before searching for the source of the voice. His blue eyes stared intently at what appeared to be a half man and possibly a goat. The boy’s eyes turned to a pale blue as he scanned his memory banks back at the hospital. Failing to find the desired information, he tapped into the nearest search engine in the Realm networks.
“Muse… Animus… humanoid…”
He paused as he shifted through the thousands of entries that popped up when prompted. “Half man… half goat. Satyrs… Pan… Faun.”
“Faun…”
The iris turned back to their startling deep blue. “The access code to the registrar’s database has been changed. So I can’t tell who you are, only what you are.”
SETH sounded almost regretfully, knowing full well that being part of the computer system in Hospital meant that he had to respect patient confidentiality. So no hacking into the government databases, but Mother was brilliant as usual. She had put up such an extensive firewall and a set of complicated passwords that by the time he broke through them, she would have caught him red-handed.
The boy deliberated avoided responding to what was said earlier, not because he couldn’t compute, but because he didn’t like not knowing who he was talking to. It was less fun when you don’t know how to push someone’s buttons. SETH tapped his foot impatiently quite unaware that someone was watching him as he talked to Janus. He had unconsciously grown reliant on the close circuit cameras he had at his disposal back at the hospital.

(-similarly awkward-... hi? can I jump in?)
The air shimmered around the tree, and a seven-foot tall woman stepped out. She smiled, almost involuntarily, sighing happily, and turning to survey her surroundings. Someone was hacking through the bushes, with a sword of all things! The outward happiness faded, and her green eyes hardened into a glare.
"Is that really necessary?" Her voice was probably harsher than required, but Nyala felt a responsibility for the plants. She was, after all, a dryad, even if this was not her Forest.
Speaking of which... she really should get home soon. That one forest had thrown her perception of where she was in the worlds; she had lost her perspective. And, right now, she did not particularly care.

(*waves a bit overenthusiastically at tsubasa and willow* I'm fine with anyone joining, no worries!) x J A N U S x ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Janus raised an eyebrow. "Correct. And even while I'm shifted into a human form. Not bad. The old man would probably get quite a kick out of you. As to who I am, my name is Janus. Can't say much more than that. And you?"
He listened as a few voices sounded over in the woods nearby--not quite loud enough for him to hear what they were saying, but loud enough to his ears that he couldn't have mistaken it for the sounds of an animal. Janus wondered if this boy heard it. It would be more interesting to wait and see rather than ask his odd new company, he decided. The faun finished tuning his old lute and went about playing a piece reminiscent of early Renaissance. Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? (Thank you peeps! ) Tsubasa turned around at a harsh female voice. "Is that really necessary?" "-A dryad!" Mokona popped its head out from under his cloak and exclaimed cheerily. Tsubasa relaxed and waved his sword away, in which it disappeared in a flash of light. "I apologize...if my actions may have hurt your nature, in any way." He bowed slightly at the tall woman before him, unfazed by her towering appearance over his smaller built. "Should we join them?" Mokona tugged at his collar. Tsubasa gazed at the pair near the water edge for a moment before he finally answered, "...No, let's just observe them a little longer."

(-grins and waves back- much appreciated!)
Nyala rolled her eyes, but was in too good a mood to stir herself to true anger.
"Think about what you are killing before you act."
She touched the undergrowth, lips moving but no sound issuing from them, whispering apologies and assistance to the plants. In no time at all the thicket was looking healthier, perhaps more so than it had in years.
"If you ask it nicely, you can simply step through," which she demonstrated, perfectly, gracefully, and then back again.
"Let's just observe them a little longer." Nyala's eyes narrowed at the words.
" 'Observe' - that sounds incredibly like spying to me. Not the friendliest of activities."
Behind her eyes, where the pictures form, mouths were laughing, eyes staring out from between leaves, but she blinked that away. It was a long time ago, and there were happier memories clouding her view. She thought of them and smiled, to herself.

Tsubasa was beginning to show some interest in the female dryad. "You've quite a personality," he remarked casually.
"We aren't spying-" Mokona began, but he clamped a hand over its mouth.
"You feel that it's rude to 'spy' on them, and I feel it's not very nice to disturb their conversation..." he shrugged and turned his attention back to the water. "Mokona, this waterfall-"
"Uun...there's a strong power radiating from the water, but I can't be sure." Mokona said in a small voice.
"Then we should just find its source?" He straightened up and surveyed the sea of green around him. "You sure know how to make everything more complicated than usual, little one. Guess we'll have to go up." He made his way carefully through the undergrowth, and he thought he could feel that the leaves seemed to shift to open a path for him.

"I'll take that as a compliment." Nyala almost laughed, shocked at the sound issuing from her mouth.
She listened to the trees for a moment, then raised her voice to reach the retreating others.
"It's easier to get to the other way, apparently! Not that I'm particularly interested."
In her mind, the dryad was chatting to the trees. They seemed lovely, perhaps a little lonely. And even, was that-? They were scared, or maybe just wary. Just enough to give Nyala pause for thought.
"Maybe... maybe I am interested, then."

(Hello willow! ^^ We meet again…)
SETH stifled a yawn when Janus began playing on his lute. The music made him sleepy. “I’m beginning to get bored of you. To make sure you live up to your name, I’ll transit to another location.”
He gave a mock wave and cheeky grin as he walked away. “I might be back if the others prove to be equally boring or worse.”
The boy began walking towards the source of the faint voices he heard earlier. Originally, he had brushed the faint sounds aside, but when they persisted, his analysis led him to conclude to what he heard were actually voices. They had vibrated within two set range of frequencies. There could be a third, but he didn’t detect enough to be sure. Thus there was likely to be two others around. Who or what they are cannot be deduced. With so many species and races, a female from one group could potentially sound like a male or juvenile male in another group.
SETH passed through undergrowth like a ghost passing through the wall. The surrounding leaves glowed and shivered slightly as a gentle current ran across their surface. He smirked when he noticed that he was standing right in the middle of someone’s path. Truth be told, he appeared to be blocking the way. Or will be soon. Very soon. He crossed his arms languidly.
“Boo!”

x J A N U S x ------------------------------------------------------------------------ "That's fine. It was beginning to get a bit noisy, anyway," Janus remarked as the boy left the water's edge, a bit amused with the strange youth's seeming attempt to make him cross. "I hope you find your new company to be a bit more interesting."
Closing his eyes as his clearing became peaceful again, he picked up on the tune he had started playing on his mandore a moment ago. Someone seemed to be whispering to the trees nearby. He hoped his wanderings hadn't led him into someone else's territory, but he intended to stay until he knew for a fact whether he had or not; this seemed the only place in this forest where the old man couldn't reach him telepathically, and he had no interest in speaking with Cornelius now that his rather forced apprenticeship was over and done with.Is this the real life? Tsubasa gave the dryad a simple nod of appreciation, and began to move in the direction she pointed.
"Maybe... maybe I am interested, then."
"Puu~" Mokona left his shoulder and leaped onto the dryad's head. "A new companion! What do you say?"
Tsubasa glanced at her briefly. "If she's willing."
"Boo!"
He stopped in his tracks at the sudden appearance of a boy before him. "...Hey," he greeted the newcomer coolly. This is becoming quite a gathering, he mused.

(Hey Basil! XD)
Nyala reached up to her head, almost panicked, lifting Monoka from it, cupping her hands.
"What are you? I've never seen anything like you..."
She scrutinised the... thing... she was holding, but couldn't place... it? him? her? It would be rude to attempt to use any of the personal pronouns - she would inevitably get it wrong.
She flicked her mussed up red-brown hair back, immediately falling into perfect position, and bit her lip in confusion.
Barely looking up from Monoka, Nyala noticed the arrival of the boy without shock; after all, she had sensed his approach from the trees.
"Hello. What do you do to the leaves when you move? It tickles."
