Ascatal smiled and said " Well Eva my real name is quite long as well , so i know what you mean. "
Emmy landed on Eva's land and said "Thank you Evaand You can touch my wings if you wish, but be gentle they are very delicate.
When Eva went to put her dress back on over the odd under clothes she had on, Emmy flew up then landed on the the child's shoulder and sat there as she liked the little girl, so sweet and innocent.
Ascatal watched the exchange between the girls and nodded in return to Violette's nod and followed behind, he wasn't keen to let her take the lead but he could sense she did not trust him yet and he wasn't about to let these young ones walk alone in this forest.
"Eva, , tell if you would, is Violette unable to speak our language or does she simply choose not to? " Ascatal asked smaller girl and as he did his cloak billowed out slightly revealing the glimpse of his sword.

------------------------------------------------------------------------ Yeah, it's plain to see that baby you're beautiful and there's nothing with you; It's me - I'm a freak but thanks for loving me 'cause you're doing it perfectly Adam looked up from running his fingers through Kurt's hair, eying the white-haired Elf with a touch of amusement. It's true Callier was extremely capable of killing... He witnessed it with his own eyes. But he doubted she'd kill someone for no reason - not even demons were lacking that much conscience. Right? Even his darker side... it had a conscience. Or a line it won't cross (it won't hurt its bound in any way-)
"It's just Callier," Zach said unexpectedly. "It's the way she deals with things. I don't think she'll hurt Phoenix unless he gives her a reason to." His eyes flickered over to Callier. "With all due respect, Cal."
Loki chirped with mischief in his eyes, "Oh I'm sure she wouldn't."
"Loki."
"Loki!"
Adam and Zach spoke at the same time, one warning and one exasperated. Adam shook his head at the impish man while Zach merely looked annoyed before turning his face into Tommy's hair, muttering under his breath.
Loki blinked innocently, ignoring the way Cinna eyed him (warily, with caution - he's been on the receiving end of one of Loki's snowballs before). "What?" Adam rolled his eyes, wisely deciding to keep away from getting into a verbal battle with the shorter man. He turned instead to Kurt.

All the while the separate groups had been talking, the trees had been leaning over them, silently and without permission. Now every muse had a fanned out branch above their head. The trees froze as though listening, though what for was anyone's guess, for a long while.
Or at least most of them did.
The beech testing Ascatal moved it's branches so it was collecting just the Elf's information and none of Emmy's. It sent out a low rumble, too low for even the most finely tuned ears to hear, and the branch above Lovai's head dipped lower too, then sent a rumble back: No, this Elf didn't have the same magic.
This one does Ascatal's beech rumbled back. All the trees around were still now despite the stiff breeze, listening.
I fail to see the importance of this Callier's tree whispered, the sound hissing through the branches.
We can't stop him using magic if he likes... he could help all of these people....
That can't happen!
Silence. The eerie lack of noise pressed in on Lovai's ears and he looked up at the trees for the first time, noted their positions and felt sick. "You're right," he whispered to Adam, "we should all explore now... or just move."
Suddenly, a strange wailing, creaking sound filled the glade they were in. The trees had made their decision: they couldn't stop the Noldo using magic but they could stop everyone permanently. They were on the move now, and they were closing in.
Lovai's gaze darted around, watching the trees slowly yet surely encirclling their small group (and the others), "Anyone have any ideas?"

[Eva’s POV]
Eva was happy when Emmy landed on her shoulders when they started walking. The girl regretted not being able to touch the fairy’s wings earlier. Curiously, she reached out and stroked the wings hesitantly as though she was afraid they would break. Slowly, she gained a little more confidence. Soon she was running her tiny finger along the edge of one of the wings.
“It’s like snow,” she exclaimed.
They weren’t cold, but they felt slightly powdery. Not quite flour. That white stuff was softer and messier. It wasn’t her favorite thing like snow. The kidling wondered if it was possible to have more than one favorite thing. Gus told her that favorite means you like it the most. That’s why she doesn’t have a favorite brother. She only liked either of her brothers more if the other one annoyed her. Ascatal’s question caught her attention. Her brows knitted into a slight frown. She giggled.
“Vylette’s new. She prefers the way Mummy talks to Aunt Erin.”
The concept of languages was foreign to her. Eva simply didn’t know how to tell the Elf that her parents spoke different languages and that Realm speak was the first one she learned as a toddler. The other two developed along the way in bits and pieces. The only things she knew in Mummy or Daddy’s language were mostly stories, but she doubt it was Ascatal’s bedtime.
“Do you speak differently too?”
“Can I see your sword?” She asked all of a sudden.
It looked nice though different from her Daddy’s one. She hardly gets to play with Yamato. Gus has it most of the time. Maybe she ought to ask Daddy if she can try the next time she sees him. The little one barely noticed that her companion was slowly walking faster and faster. Neither did she realize that they were heading towards the lake.
----------------------
[Violette’s POV]
A slight throb was developing at the nape of Violette’s neck. The teen kept her face as impassive as possible. The forest was buzzing. She could sense it. Foreign rumbling like rough words were exchanged. From the trees? The girl refused to look up in case she gave herself away. These trees didn’t seem too pleased to have them around. They seemed confused.
A chill ran down her spine. It took all her willpower to prevent herself from looking up. She hoped she was just being paranoid, but she believed that the trees were spying on them. A part of her quashed her Mother’s voice which was telling her that she ought to trust her instincts. There was no way she could fight off an entire forest at once. The amount of energy would… she didn’t even want to speculate what that much of energy will do to her.
Bit by bit, the girl quickened her pace. She did so gradually to prevent Eva from noticing how tensed she really was. The trees seemed to be angry. She didn’t know why. She doubted she wanted to anyway. The Elf better be helpful, she grumbled deep down. A sword does not make a man. His prowess in battle does.
The girl breathed in deeply before continuing forward. There was a lake up ahead. Usually the trees don’t grow to close to the edge. Maybe they can escape by jumping in or something. She’ll think about it when they get there. The trees had to sleep some time. That will be the best time to escape.

Nyala tensed, the trees moving in a way they shouldn't. Or rather, didn't at home. This was somewhere new. Things were different.
She took two paces forwards into the group.
"Stay completely still. I think... I think they feel threatened. If we are still, we may convince them we mean them no harm."
The trees felt new. She did not know what they were doing. She could not understand them as easily as she could the trees of her Forest. After all, they were not hers. She hoped she was right. And she hoped the others listened. She did not know them, but did not want them hurt regardless.

"Thats not snow it is fairy dust , it has magical uses" Emmy said then wafted her wings slightly sprinkling a little of it on Eva;'s hand and making it glow faintly.
"I Understand Eva, and no you may not play with my sword, it is not a play thing, and yes i do" Ascatal said then considered and added in his native tongue" Lle ier vanima ve' i' giliath"
Ascatal suddenly froze and said " Halt something approaches, .....it maybe a threat "
Ascatal drew his sword which was an ancient design both cunning and beautiful. " Eva tell Violette I said to stay close to Emmy and you do the same she maybe small but she has power you do not guess, Emmy you know what to do."
Soon the sounds of something coming through the underbrush of the forest right towards the group could be heard , Ascatal tensed himself to defend the children, he thought it was bad enough the trees were angered for some reason but to have some manner of beast or creature coming after them as well was going to make it difficult to defend the group.
Emmy nodded and flew up and cast her dust about the girls speaking in a low voice as the dust began to glow as a protective ward began to form.
( note: what Ascatal said in elvish means in English: You are beautiful like the stars.)

Like the diamond in your ring Cut to mirror your intentions Oversized and overwhelmed The shine of which has caught my eye And rendered me so isolated, so motivated I am certain now thatZander looked up at the alarm in the elf's tone, uneasy in his skin. Behind him Kurt was pale, eyes wide as he instinctively pressed closer to Adam and off to the side he caught a glimpse of Tommy's eyes, slipping to a darker shade from their usual sunlit brown.
"I agree." He said quietly, looking up sharply as a strange sound filled the clearing. Like a dryads war cry. He shivered, looking back at his companions. Callier had noticed the disturbance too, sword coming up. As it did so bright light flashed from the reflective blade and Zander froze, time shifting around him as his gaze skipped into the future.
The nightingale that had been chirruping around the group was flying up to a ridge. She landed on the shoulder of a lithe figure, hooded and cloaked in light fabric; silver-grey to match the trunks of the autumnal beeches, with quiver and bow slung across his back. He was facing the other way so all distinguishing features were covered. Even the heels of his boots were hidden by the hem of his cloak. Upon the nightingale’s arrival, the figure turned towards her slightly before facing ahead again. The bird was preening herself as the vision vanished.
He looked up to find Callier staring at him.
"Alexander?" Her voice was cool, collected. "Are you well?" He heard a questioning noise from Kurt behind him and Tommy's fingers snagged on the sleeve of his jacket.
"Zander? Alright?" He shivered faintly.
"We should move. Now." Up the corners of your lips Part them and feel my finger tips Trace the moment, fall forever Defense is paper thin Just one touch and I'd be in Too deep now to ever swim against the current

The tree closest to Zander stopped and seemed to shiver. Like a pebble being dropped in a lake its shivers seemed to radiate out to the other trees around it. Carefully, it withdrew its esence from one of its branches, analysing the magic streaming up from the man with another. But with a sigh it affirmed that the use of alien magic had been unintentional, so it returned to normal and signalled for the trees to keep advancing.
Meanwhile, increasingly far away from the other groups and they moved and she didn't, the trees were ringing Nyala round and the ring was shrinking. The trees beyond the ring were growing anxious; the dryad hadn't shown any malintent (she couldn't have or they wouldn't have allowed her through them) and their master would be furious if they willfully damaged a muse without just cause. The ring pressed tighter; the trees now had to bend their branches outward away from the ring in places to avoid them getting broken so close were the trunks to each other.

(I'm sooo confused, please excuse contradictions and bits that make no sense)
Nyala regarded the shrinking ring with a strange mixture of panic dampened by amazement.
After a few moments contemplation, she slowed her personal timeframe to that of the trees, her movements seeming to an outsider to be impossibly slow. She smiled, shut her eyes fast, and opened her mind.
"Hello, you beautiful, beautiful trees."

[ Eli, could you give us some idea of what's going on? Because I have... two muses who will instinctively attack if there's danger (Zach and Adam), and Loki is just a troublemaker, as you can see... I don't want to do something that will destroy your plot ] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ And it's no surprise when the last light dies And the girl upon the wooden floor Won't be dancing anymore And where do they go when the thrills have gone? And the last song plays down at Babylon Five hundred kids shout what's the deal? It's a very confusing way to feel He startled like a frightened rabbit when he realized the trees had moved. On their own. When they weren't supposed to be able to (maybe he's in a dream, and this was the Arena and this is just some joke of the Gamemakers...).
Somewhere behind him he heard Adam start to growl. Without even turning he could tell the older male's eyes were inching towards black (or maybe red). The growl remained unbroken; if anything, it grew louder and Cinna ducked his head, cringing into the nearest person (away from the trees and away from Adam). Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Loki looking up interestedly at the trees, mischief in his eyes (he'll get them all killed if he wasn't careful - but when is Loki careful anyway?). Cinna swallowed, eyes darting to the floor, hoping to not see ice pooling around his feet.
Oh no.
Loki stepped towards the trees, hand reaching out to one of their branches, frost covering his fingers.
Cinna opened his mouth to give the warning, but Zach got there first.
"Loki!" he cried, and there was a tangible pull as a rune snapped to life (at Zach's word - he clearly had put some spells on hold for situations like this), yanking Loki down on his back. The ice cracked and melted when another rune struck it, and then the caster pressed closer to Tommy, obviously wondering what the trees would do now.
Cinna braced his feet apart to avoid falling over, and somewhere Adam snarled a warning (holding his bound close, keeping him safe).------------------------------------------------------------------------ male | 19 years | 5' 9.5" | human | Max Thieriot Milk And Money © The Fratellis | Carry You Home © James Blunt

[Sorry, guys >.<. -realises she's too used to moving trees and all that jazz and that she forgot to write the nightingale in- Basically the trees have been told to drop branches on anyone who intentionally uses magic different to the kind found in Middle Earth (so Ascatal can use as much magic as he wants, I guess ^^), which means that Loki probably needs to move... They're scared at the moment though cause Phoenix has abandoned them and the forest has been invaded by all kinds of monsters and stuff so they're going against orders and making a preemptive attack. I know how it'll be sorted though, but I need to talk to Chaos first. The plot at the moment is 'muses get chased by evil animals and have tricks played on them by Phoenix'. Not exactly high brow stuff ^^ I have some ideas for creatures, most based off the ones in Princess Mononoke but feel free to write them in. In fact I demand you write them in (lol jk but yeah... I can't think of them all). Hope that makes sense. I'll write in a googly-eyed monster so there's a more obvious bad guy ] The trees around Nyala stopped advancing. In fact they stopped moving altogether. The whispers and low rumbles began again as they decided what to do with the dryad. They seemed oblivious to the fact that some of the gaps between their trunks were easily wide enough for her to get through. At the same time as ice formed on Loki's fingers, an imperceptable message shot out across the forest, travelling just slightly slower than light. Within a few seconds, therefore, every tree in the wood knew that someone was using alien magic. The signal whipped across the clearings to and the nightingale felt it. She began fluttering around her masters head, nipping his ears and singing as loudly as she dared. He batted her away and she began to fly back to the group she had been tailing before, planning to be noticed by them this time. A branch high above Loki's head creaked ominously and, with a strange kind of grace, came free of its tree and fell through the canopy towards the magic-using muse. A snuffling grunt was borne to them all on the breeze. It echoed off the trees' trunks and branches so it was impossible to tell from whence it came, but its creator was coming quickly closer. [It's a large, muse-killing boar. yay!]

Nyala's eyes snapped open, smile fading a little. She knew they were talking about her. It was not a nice feeling, but then, they were trees. She could trust what they were saying not to be filled with rumour, she was sure. At least she hoped so.
She ignored that particular conversation, sensing something in another part of the forest, just too far away for her to be able to tell what was going on. She reached out a hand to the nearest tree, comforting, her smile now replaced by a look of concern.
"Sweethearts," it wasn't what she wanted to say, but it was the closest translation of the word she would have used, "what's wrong?"

[Violette’s POV]
Violette pulled her hand insistently despite what Eva told her. She refused to look in the younger girl’s direction when the child refused to budge. She took in a deep breath and exhaled slowly. Deep down, she was cursing Ascatal and all his forbearers. Which idiot would stand and wait for the enemy to charge at him? Why give the enemy an advantage? Even in this hell of a place, stupidity was equated with courage. She lifted her eyes up a little a watched as Emmy circled round them and the dust began to glow. An ugly scowl marred her face. Violette deliberately kept her back toward Ascatal’s. There was no way she’d want to see an imbecile make a greater fool of himself.
She counted silently. She remembered the rustling of the bushes, but the grunting did not necessarily mean that something was definitely going to charge at them. Reluctantly, the older girl let go of Eva’s hand and turned to face Ascatal’s back. She crossed her arms and stood in a posture that hinted at her displeasure with the Elf. They haven’t been attacked.
Whatever caused the rustling did not seem interested in them. Perhaps it was headed towards the other group, which was a good thing in her opinion. There could be more than one. Or at least more than one person or muse causing the trees much alarm and confusion. The emotions were contradictory enough for her to believe that there was definitely more than one individual behind it.
-----------------------
[Eva’s POV]
Eva noticed Violette’s scowl. She tried to ask the teen what was wrong, but she was simply ignored. Getting tired of waiting around, the younger kidling stepped away and tugged at the hem of Ascatal’s shirt.
“Aiscatal, let’s go? No one’s here.”
There were no demons around. Daddy and Uncle Dante weren’t around either. And she bet it was tiring standing like that for so long.

"Eva be silent and don't move " Ascatal whispered then with a swiftness and ease of motion that was born of centuries of experience he swung his sword throw the air just as a huge wolf like creature leapt at the small girl and as blade met beast he cut it down.
" Looks to be some sort of wolf like beast , and they usually travel in packs lets move , Violette , if you would be willing to lead " Ascatal said as he cleaned and sheathed his sword. Ascatal could tell they young woman took ill at his trying to lead the group so he hoped to placate her.
Emmy dropped her wards and flew over to the slain beast and danced over it and sang a soft song in a strange manner of speech then said " There its spirit will find peace in the after life "
Ascatal nodded and said " Good, I would have preferred not to have killed it but it left me no choice, it was hunting Eva, lets go, one I can handle a pack angered at the loss of one of its own is another matter"
Emmy nodded then flew over to Eva and landed in her hand and said in a tired voice " Eva would you carry me for a while , i am tired from using my magic, this place seems to have made me drain my self more than normal. "
Ascatal waited for Violette to lead the way as he listen carefully hoping he would not hear the howls of a hunting pack.

Like the diamond in your ring Cut to mirror your intentions Oversized and overwhelmed The shine of which has caught my eye And rendered me so isolated, so motivated I am certain now thatZander resisted the urge to scream as the ice shattered, feeling the first stirrings of a vision in the blurred reflection the frozen water provided. For an instant the light blinded him, and then he saw-
He saw the woodman again, this time in the forest. He stepped up and placed his flattened left hand against a tree trunk. Soft moonlight glinted off a thin ring on his finger and silhouetted the contours of his face against the greyness of his hood, revealing high cheekbones and hollow cheeks. His eyes were closed and he breathed in and out deeply. Then he stepped back as though pained. His eyes snapped open and he looked up into the canopy. His breathing had quickened but he gave nothing else away.
The vision broke as a tree branch fell with a terrible creak and he moved before he consciously had time to think, snatching Cinna up, pulling him close and turning so that he hit the leaves first, Cinna cradled against his chest as the branch crashed down. There was a moment of silence where all he could hear was his own breathing and all he could feel was each soft exhale as Cinna's puffed against his cheek. Then he pulled back, hands on the younger man's shoulders.
"Are you alright?" A thought struck him and he pressed a hand to the back of Cinna's head, holding him still while he shifted so he could see if the others were alright.
