^Sorry, I meant to reply here but forgot. I love how he talks! And no, I haven't. I wasn't interested when the series aired here and even so I don't have Sky, but the DVD should be out soon and when it is... XD I'm reading the book atm but though I'm really liking it it's going so slowly! -has little time to read- Also I rediscovered this: Selon moi, the pics of me taken that day are the ones I like best, ie the ones I like. The only problem is I'm currently growing my hair out but seeing those photos again makes me want to cut it 'short'. -sighs- When it comes to hair styles you just can't win.

[Okay so this post could go in the Break-Up Make-Up thread but seeing as it's centred round something not related directly to the muses I'm putting it here.] So I just read this fanfic about Fëanor by one of my buddies on NaNo and it was really odd; because our levels of obsession are similar she describes her favourite Elf Fëanor like I'd describe Thranduil so I relate to the unhealthly level of worship (and she's a good writer)... but it's odd cause I hate Fëanor. -looks over at Eldu who's reading the 16th volume of Fruits Basket, he's been reading the series from vol. 1 basically all day- Eldu you are pathetic! -isn't referring to his Furuba reading- -sitting up- Well I'm sorry that I'm not in The Silmarillion!Oh but you are. I am not Thingol!No... you're his Minime though. -doesn't know what that means but 'knows' he's been insulted- -glares- Well then go and worship the Noldo with the rest of the Noldor-worshipping -censored-.

So you would have thought the 15 actors credited on The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey's main page on IMDb would be Gandalf, Bilbo and the 13 dwarves. Er.. no; it's altogether more random. (copied exactly)
Evangeline Lilly - Tauriel Luke Evans - Bard the Bowman Orlando Bloom - Legolas Cate Blanchett - Galadriel Hugo Weaving - Elrond Elijah Wood - Frodo Benedict Cumberbatch - Smaug/Necromancer [should be a 'the' there... and in fact there is for the second film] Martin Freeman - Bilbo Baggins Ian McKellen - Gandalf Christopher Lee - Saruman Andy Serkis - Gollum Richard Armitage - Thorin Oakenshield Stephen Fry - Master of Laketown Lee Pace - King Thranduil [for the second film it's just 'Thranduil', did he abdicate between films or something?] Ian Holm - Old Bilbo
The second film - The Hobbit: There and Back again which is like saying River Avon (River River) in my opinion seeing as they're both the book's title - has a slightly different random assortment and a slightly different order. Legolas and the Master of Laketown have disappeared to be replaced by
James Nesbitt - Bofur Brian Blessed - King Dáin (rumoured)
What gets me is this:
Dominic Keating - Galion (rumoured) Craig Hall - Galion (uncredited)
WTF is that all about?! These films need Galion!
Actually... they don't. All I did was get wasted.
He's right, you know.
Thanks, guys. -cries-

For this fic I had an idea of writing all the Elvenkings round a table in a Hallowe'en fic. They're all dead btw; Thranduil got drowned and Legolas (who was technically king for half an hour) was stabbed. Thing is there's a heck of a lot of them, and that's not including any of Fëanor's sons.
Finwë Fëanor Turgon Thingol Finrod Felagund Orodreth Gil-Galad Celebrimbor Oropher Amroth Amdír Thranduil
I think that's it. -looks at list- -cries- I haven't written 9 of them before!

You know sometimes, well all the time, I wish basic ideas of scenes for LotR/Silmarillion fanfics didn't pop into my head in the venacular. Some are rather hard to Tolkien-ify
This is okay: - Owl shows Phoenix the letter from [Owl's] family disowning him just beyond the bridge over the Sirion after Owl has epically saved Phoenix’s bacon at [Phoenix's] trial
So are these, apart from the mental note in the middle of them: - Phoenix finds Owl preserved in the dry dust outside Angband (only not Angband… that long word I can’t spell because I fail at life) and buries him properly
- Owl tells Phoenix about how he came to Beleriand via a letter he hid in Phoenix’s cloak (how the heck did Phoenix not notice earlier?) only Owl’s already dead :’(
But this one is... well... NaNo-worthy: - Phoenix wears green when helping with the dissolution of the Thoronedhil and Owl has an ‘O.o!! you’re the Sinda who helped me in my dream and omfg I know who’ll you become!’ moment
Yeah, that last one is going to be fun rendering into LotR language.
[Owl [aka [in order of use] Fánfallë, Hecilo, Nenros] is one of my OCs and Phoenix... well you know who Phoenix is. Owl becomes Emlyn in my NaNo novel, fyi. Phoenix becomes Amber but he's hardly in it.]

I kinda hope they don't say 'Thranduil' in The Hobbit films cause they don't in the book... but I know they will. And there'll be loads of fangirls' going 'ahmahgaad, he's so cuuute!' They'd better hope they don't meet me; it'll be a case of 'who was his dad then?' 'err...' 'Phoenix, may I borrow your staff?' They've ruined Legolas, they can leave the Hobbit Elves alooone! >.<
Actually they might all be too busy squeeing over Garett; we live in hope.

^and the dwarves will distract them... for example Aidan Turner's fanbase is surprisingly large... for a vampire on BBC3...

^true... though I think Pace's is bigger because he's been in more stuff.
Elvenquest, Series 3, Episode 2
Sam: You can't be a barbarian.
Penthiselea: Why not?
Sam: Well you don't get female barbarians, do you? You'll stick out like a sore thumb.
Vidar: Why is that?
Sam: Well I suppose women just aren't very barbaric-
Vidar: No, I mean why do sore thumbs stick out? I've had sore thumbs and they don't really stick out at all.
Dean: Aye, that's a good point.
Vidar: Do you remember that time when I caught my thumb in my longbow-string?
Dean: Yes, my lord; that was ever so red, wasn't it?
Vidar: It hurt dreadfully!
Dean: ...But it didn't 'stick out'...
Sam: Can... can we...
Dean: I can't think of anything that 'sticks out' when it's enflamed.
Sam: Look, can we get back to being barbarians?!
